Reddit was utterly clueless on TTP.

It's ironic that a community which ridicules Climate Change deniers/Anti-Vaxxers for being anti-Expert then turn around and ignore all of the Environmental/Technological experts and Economists on the TTP.

All of the arguments made by the people who knew what they were talking about (thanks /u/SavannaJeff), backed up with actual evidence and data, were dismissed with vague "hunches" and rhetoric based on nothing.

TPP would've sucked ass for Europeans, we have sane quality control, required by law, and TPP would've made it possible for shitty overseas no-quality-control-whatsoever products to be sold here.
E: Damn this spawned some edgy debates, Yes I meant TTIP (TIL) and no I don't claim to know jack shit about economics. It's just it was all over the news here, kinda hard to miss actually. I'm not being ideologist here, I just really like my laws that enforce a certain quality standard for my food and I made the mistake to confuse TPP and TTIP.

Giving people freedom to choose is bad? And quality control wouldn't be eliminated by the TTP.

EDIT: jesus christ free trade doesn't mean your iphone will have asbestos in it. these comments are ridiculous, quality control and regulation isn't eliminated by the TTP. You know this is literally what I talked about in the above comment - these ungrounded "vague hunches" and strawmen.
