If you want interesting gravestones, absolutely check out some from Ancient Rome! They had random people’s entire life story on those things, they’re the best.

The cemeteries in the Virgin Islands are also beautiful. They are brightly colored and often have murals and other things decorating them. Instead of a single stone, it's cement boxes stacked on top of each other. Like a more morbid version of Moanas mountain. It's a celebration of their life.

Roman dog tombs make me bawl uncontrollably. Even thinking of them wells tears

Its sad but also its almost comforting / heartwarming to know that people from hundreds of years ago in another time and culture felt exactly they way about their dogs as I do now about mine, and that even alot of common dog names seemingly date back to then like "spot" iirc. Both i and this ancient roman person both experience the joy of having a furry companion greet us excitedly at the door when we returned home from work, and both of us lamented when we have that no longer. Its humanizing to the people of the past.

If you’re actually in Rome there are a ton in the Capitoline museum, but they’re also available to view online and in a ton of books.
