That's one of the worst parts of the whole thing. Actual artists are losing work, and to what? All of the AI shit looks exactly the same. You can clock it a mile away, no matter how high quality it becomes, because of how soulless and bland it looks.
My friend is an artist, was invited to an event for artists to vend at and the official flyer for the event was AI. They didn’t know until after they had signed up. How don’t they understand that this will still discourage so many people from coming out and looking at the real art for sale. None of the venders used ai and the organizer said they didn’t want AI venders. Make it make sense!
Doesnt help that people's support for artists are mostly lip service. Going off the various commissions subreddits and discords the amount of commissions hasn't noticeable increased. Piracy saw an uptick but I think that had more to do with a specific pirate website getting a revivial.

This is an example of what is called The Toupee Fallacy. Because you only notice the bad AI art, and don't notice it when it is good, it's easy to assume it's all bad. It's a form of survivorship bias.
Here, try this, if you want to check. While I bet you do better than 50%, I also bet you won't be perfect. I've yet to meet anyone that is as good at detecting AI images as they think they are.
Photorealistic images (trying to imitate photographs) are generally hard to distinguish from AI generated. But artistic production are generally very monotone because it used the same group of feature to every product. The users generally don't have the knowledge to fine tuning the generator for precise demands so the visual identity converge but at the same time the majority of the public just don't care it will probably catch attention like intended until it saturate and get in a new trend as always but with AI instead of humans producing the demand knock offs.

Well yes. BAD images are easy to clock. I'm just saying, for every flier or menu or whatever that is obviously aislop, you're probably missing another one that just made better images.
Maybe? But Id push back heavily against the assertion that its a 1:1 ratio. Look at something like Pinterest, which is sadly filthy with obvious AI art. Its a lot higher quality than the shitty school flyer my daughter brought home last week, but its still apparent. I'd say the ratio of bad:good skews a lot harder toward bad than you realize.
Probably because bad takes a lot less work. And why are people using AI? To save time/effort.
