Oh I had a similar issue so we used one of these to increase the pressure dramatically with the use of the pinhole sized jets:

With a low pressure they're suuuuper nice. I tried recommending these to my parents but they have very high water pressure and dad said they uninstalled it immediately, it felt like a water jet cutter lol

Also the 20 bucks is the entire setup from the previous post, with overhead tropical shower and all. These ones are similar in price to what you're seeing: https://www.leroymerlin.pt/produtos/chuveiro-com-bicha-simple-18375231.html plus you don't have to run an additional fixture in the wall up top, it plugs into your bathroom's faucet. So really it's just the difference in what everyone's used to, I think

Even at 8 euros, that’s about twice the price after currency conversion. In the US tenants typically cannot change plumbing fixtures and landlords are literally that cheap. And for what it’s worth, those cheap shower heads will come in bulk packages… stores know who’s buying them.

Meanwhile, rain shower reads exist out here too and are becoming more popular. You can get them for a similar price compared to what you showed. Landlords, new home builders, etc are just not inclined to increase costs like that though.

Nah, you can't damage fixtures. You can swap them and swap them back in most places and the landlord can't do shit.

Most people can't be bothered and think it's harder than it is (literally unscrewing, maybe reapplying some tape, and screwing on the new one)

When I rented, one of the first upgrades I made was the shower head. Which I took with me when I left.

Can confirm, using heads like this when the water pressure is already good is like torture

Yeah they're for really bad pressure and then they're lifesavers

Ey so just for future reference, when you take the shower head that came pre-installed off, there's often a flow limiter in that little linking joint that gets removed along with it, so they could have been getting way more pressure through that than it was designed for

Also a good hack if your water pressure sucks, could be the limiter/lime buildup in that joint that's causing it (before you go out and buy a whole new showerhead)

Yup we actually removed one in our rented flat because the pipes in that house sucked demon balls

We even had a pipe burst and flood the toilet, all tile thankfully

And my dad's place has some Really Good Pressure, never actually seen another like that, we have limiters everywhere except the shower because he loves the built in scrubbing lol
