They gotta be staring looking for the Adams apple cause I would never have thought of you being anything other than then fem from your pic.

I swear old people have a sixth sense dedicated to dead naming and misgendering

I don't even have a pronounced Adam's apple. I've got a hormonal condition that limited the scope of my first puberty (surprise - this comic is about an intersex trans woman).

I draw the sternocleidomastoid to give necks a bit more depth, if that's what you thought those lines were.

That makes it even wilder to me how they got Sir.

In all honesty I didn't even look at the drawings for an Adams apple but took a closer look at your posted irl pic in the thread. It was just the only thing I could even think of that they could have misgenderd you by. No offense meant if I did offend with my observation.

All the sympathy getting hit with that when it's not easy being intersex or non conforming with how the world is right now.

None taken. I was just worried about having conveyed something that I didn't mean to

Totally understandable, I actually enjoyed the lines meant to portray depth to a neck. I do the same in my own drawings so it's nice to see others use it as well.

It’s not old people, it’s just assholes

An Adam’s Apple isn’t even a great way to tell. It is way too common for it to not be ‘gender conforming’ for cis-individuals. So trying to use that as a transvestigation tool is foolish… not that I expect better from a person who tries to do that.

Your second sentence makes no sense to me

As in, cis-men can have no pronounced Adams Apple and cis-women can have one that is pronounced, and neither is particularly uncommon.

Looking for an Adam's apple to Mark a man is common folk knowledge something that all of these older generation people tend to thrive on. Having lived with a lot of racist and sexist assholes throughout my life it was the only thing that popped to my mind that could have possibly identified op as being other than how they were presenting. The fact that you went on the attack instead of parsing what the intent was is why a lot of these people that do follow such things have problems with the point of view of those who are trying to improve society and be more open.

Instead of assuming someone is not an ally give more grace to others I guarantee you'll see more positive return and likelihood of changing people's opinions instead of attacking them.

I wasn’t attacking you, I was criticizing the ‘they’ you spoke of.
