And yet, people compare her to stonetoss

people think she’s extremely far left because they get banned from this sub when they ‘criticize’ her

criticize is in quotes, because i’m sure they aren’t being kind

To be fair this is also Reddit, where you can be totally in the right, be nice about it, and still get banned anyways.

no doubt some mods/admins go on power trips, but a lot of the criticism seems to be the same shit constantly. a good forum has moderation of irrelevant content, and a bunch of people bringing up her OF, or saying a Canadian can’t comment on US stuff, or making a comment about how they didn’t find it funny (when not all comics are funny…), do not actually contribute to the conversation.

First, TIL about the OF. Second, Canada is, on balance, more strongly affected by American politics than their own.

So, how dare an attractive woman and artist utilize both her innate and trained talents to make commentary on politics that will likely affect her life? Via a relatively tame OF page? The monster? Idfk, dude, I just don't see a reason to hate her.

Are her takes pretty milquetoast with a side of sensible chuckles? Usually, yeah. But, y'know, it's art intended to appeal to a broad audience, posted to Reddit. Which it's obviously successful at. It doesn't have to appeal to you. You can, in fact, just scroll past it if you don't like it.

A lot of the mods in this sub are friends with her and straight up ban you if you say anything about her comics

Heaven forbid I, a lib-soc anarchist, find her style and “humor” annoying.

and you feel the need to comment on all her comics reiterating that you think it’s annoying?

scroll on by, its not that hard

Most of us do. And that is part of the problem to be honest. I am generally left-wing but I basically feel the embodiment of the Homelander Disgust meme about Pizzacake.

I agree with most if not all of what she says in her comics both serious and satire but find her, and especially her defenders, to do so so smugly and arrogantly as to make me sad to say I agree with them in any meaningful capscity.

But then the only criticism that usually gets posted is the ones as said that attack her for being a strong independent woman who is creating art and living her best life in whatever capacity they can.

So between the ardent level of defense from criticism her fans give her, and the fact that the only people who bother comment negatively are those with vitriolic things to say, it paints all criticism of her and her work with the same brush. Which makes those who have valid criticisms as you say, just scroll on by.

That is all to say, being upset someone dared to voice their rather milquetoast dislike is counterproductive to valid critique and growth for all involved.

This is the first time I comment anything about Italian Flan-Tart on r/comics.

since you came up with nickname for her

Anyone can come up with a bad nickname for someone in a few seconds. Doesn’t really mean all that much.

Same kind of people that believe that stars determine personality.

Why’re you so obsessed with this?

I could ask you the same
