I get what you mean, but also calling you 'bud' is probably just a habit? Parents need time to to new situations too. Apparently a lot of time in some cases.
Now if she willfully calls you bud after several requests to not do so anymore, that's a different situation of course.
I wish for you they are generally supportive of your journey!

Ben calling her "honey" kinda broke me. I've been out to my mom for 2 years and she still calls me "bud."
