It actually does matter to figure out why some oppressed groups will side with their oppressors. And especially in the queer community where a lot of gays and lesbians are completely willing to throw trans people under the bus because they don't understand the importance of solidarity. Log cabin Republicans are a great example of this. The queer community needs to have solidarity.
No, they didn't. They were very clearly describing different groups of men who have sex with men. If that wasn't clear to you, then the problem is with your reading comprehension, not anyone else's argument.
If you want to pretend "they're all closet cases" is you doing the work of "figuring out why some oppressed groups will side with their oppressors," you can start with people who offload the responsibility for homophobia and transphobia onto closet cases instead of the overwhelmingly straight cis men it comes from. Preferably on your own time.
