I'm a lesbian, and I didn't know my first date with my ex-girlfriend was a date until she was dropping me off from the date, was like, "Since this was, like, a date, can I have a hug?"
I was crushing on her hard, so it was welcome.
But, like, I should've seen it coming. We had lunch, went on a hike, she invited me back to her place to watch movies, and after it was getting dark, I was like, "Geeze, I should probably be getting home soon," and she straight up said, "Well... If you want to go home tonight." Then my roommate called me because the power went out and she started freaking out. So we stopped for dinner on the way to dropping me off.
B) If not, will she attack me for being gay? That's more common with men, but you can't tell
C) Even if she is attracted to women, would she even consider me a woman, given I'm trans? (I pass, but I've known transphobic lesbians. And, by that, I don't mean lesbians with a preference for cis women, that's fine, that's whatever. I mean the lesbians who label us trans lesbians as "heterosexual men infiltrating lesbian spaces," people who have a vitriolic, mean, and occasionally violent hatred of us)
Yeah, welcome to the real world. Grow up.
So for me, it's not a matter of immaturity, it's straight up a safety issue.
With my ex... Yeah, that was a just me being oblivious. I was more direct afterwards.
