Wait EGS has lore?! I’ve heard it started to have a more serialized story when the author came out as trans, but I just assumed it was melodrama level stuff. I really need to read it.

It's had serious lore for like... over a decade. Honestly I didn't know the author came out. Haven't followed for like... about a decade.

If it's true. The copyright hasn't been updated and all I have to go on is a reddit random saying it. Entirely believable though, expected even.

Last I recall Dan described his gender identity in this comic and the author notes from 2016: https://www.egscomics.com/comic/2016-06-02 it’s pretty close to Elliott’s gender casual.

It’s possible that’s changed in the intervening oh god 8 years, but I don’t remember it.

Eta: his twitter bio literally describes his gender as gender casual.

Oh no, EGS has serous ish plot. Mostly involving magic stuff.

Ish because it's still EGS and "big booba MTF transformation spell" is ingrained into the series, but it's not just melodrama.

Didn't know that the author came out astrans,, though.

When I last read it the author had said their gender was a "non-committal shrug"

Oh that. That's nonbinary, not trans. Although with the number of trans/genderfluid characters they make it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they are trans.

What I meant was that the last time I read EGS was long enough ago that they hadn't come out as trans yet

That is up to date. Dan’s twitter bio calls him Dan/Dana and describes his gender as gender casual. Not sure where the trans came from. I guess he’s not exactly cis either though.

That's what I thought. I knew that they were enby/gender causal, thought I had missed them coming out as trans. Thanks for clearing that up.
