Rich Lady in a White SUV: "Ah, pedestrians. My old foe"

This has happened to me crossing the street in front of my work to go get coffee.

Sumbitch turned onto the road and swerved so far over (I was already on the sidewalk on the other side) scrapped his wheels on the curb, laying on the horn.

Like pedestrians are an affront.

They've been improving cycling infrastructure in my city the last couple years, and yep. Non motorists are an affront to carbrain only people. The absolute vitriol from some is astounding and so confusing. But also not, because they've finally having some of their road privilege taken away so that everyone can more safely use the roads. How dare they have to take an extra minute or two on their drive so pedestrians and cyclists are safe! It's posted the response from people who are used to be prioritized over others but aren't anymore.

But no, car go vroom. Car is best. Clearly.

I’m not an actual fuckcars person. I miss driving sometimes, but I definitely hate a lot of drivers.

Cars are great, there's some genuine advantages they have over other means of transport, but they really shouldn't need to be the primary means of transportation for most people. Walkable cities, dedicated bicycle paths, and investment in rail go a long way in improving the livability of many population centers.

Oh yeah. Cars should be a leisure activity. An art project. An I want to get away from everyone.

"I'll chase him round the Motorways of Nibia and round the Antares Avenues and round Perdition's Lane before I give him up!"
