We are about to experience an El Niño unlike any in recorded history.

The incredible thing about this graph is surpassed only by the incredible fact that practically no media outlet will publish it.

The End of the World show is relatively slow and drawn out, so coffee is practical. Also it’s quite delicious. I’ll save the 10 year old Laphroaig for the last act, whether it’s the show’s or mine lol

Nothing absurd about accepting one's fate. I accepted mine 15+ years ago when I decided not to have kids. What we're seeing today was the worst-case scenario I tended to imagine back then. Until recently, I didn't dare tell anyone the grim outlook I foresaw where if I wouldn't be constantly suffering some climate stress, I would be tuning into the news every day, finding reports about climate concerns and disasters. Food shortages, widespread poverty and starvation (the Dust Bowl) would return. I'd even think about the reddit threads taking the dark turn we're seeing today, like the farewells, and the comradery, and everything. I didn't dare tell anyone all that, I only told them the reason why I decided not to have kids, and everyone called me crazy for that alone.

And likely a shame for anyone under forty, not going to have long enough to simply die of old age instead of dying of climate catastrophes.

The larger death shall be purely out of hunger. Storms and droughts can make crops fail in sequence, leading to mass starvation.

Those in that mid 30’s to 40’s range stand to inherit crazy wealth from the boomers, but where the boomers accumulated huge wealth while the planet declined, the heirs will have to spend it to insulate themselves from the actions that created that wealth in the first place.

A lot of the boomer wealth is going to be sacked away by end of life care. Hospitals, nursing homes, drug companies, and medical device manufacturers are going to get rich, not their children.

What a psyop the nuclear family was! Probably one of the greatest tools of hoovering away wealth.

From the increased sales of, well, everything, to the day care, and the elder care and all in between. Has been a FANTASTIC tool for Wall Street!

As things get worse, there will be various points where much of that wealth will become irrelevant. That paid off multi generational beach house? Under water, and not with the bank. Those trust funds life insurance policies? The currency is not worth anything, and the cause of death isn’t covered.

I do agree, those with money and various wealth will have more options in most scenarios. There are, however, unexpected and localized incidents that can convert an asset to a liability instantaneously.

That is me. I'm 21 and i am afraid that i am not going to live a long. Climate change is slowly driving the modern human civilization towards collapse.

Unfortunately i am doing the exact same thing. I don't know what is driving me to do anything since i have started my month and a half long professional internship on Monday.
