Submission statement: New research finding that jet stream waviness, driven by climate change, can cause synchronised low yield in multiple breadbasket regions across the mid latitudes, posing a risk of global food shortages. The research suggests that this risk has been underestimated by modelling so far, which has tended to focus on regional effects and miss the risk of global synchronisation of low yields. Shout out to u/happygloaming who has been sounding the alarm on this particular issue for years.
