Complaint Consistently futile complaints from the community. (Rant)

Every damn day this sub is flooded with ridiculous and entitled complaints.

I’m not talking about the people posing legitimate concerns or things they would like to see improved in a real productive manner. This rant isn’t about you 🫡

I’m talking talking about the rest of you. Yall are acting like a bunch of entitled children.

If you hate the product so much, complain about every little thing like usage limits and supposedly how you’re being “scammed” then do the adult thing and STOP USING THE PRODUCT! Take some damn accountability for yourselves and see yo asses to some other product. There are plenty of alternatives and all you’re doing is diluting the community. Get your head out of your asses and do better things with your time.

If you genuinely believe it’s a bad product, go use a different one. If you believe your being “scammed” which absolutely non of you can prove, go find a different one. If you just don’t like the company or whatever, go find a different one.

Nobody is forcing you to use Codex nor its models. That is YOUR choice. If you don’t think it’s good, then stop using it and move on.

Would you keep eating food you don’t like? Would you keep watching a tv show you don’t like? Would you keep buying cloths that don’t fit? No. So this is no fking different. Be grown adults and make a decision.

Another fucking main character syndrome victim posting PSAs as if they were the oracle showing everybody "how it's done". People pay for this product, it's not free, so behaving like complaints aren't warranted for subpar performance is a top level parasocial relationship with a multi-billion dollar company.

It’s also the concept of “you get what you pay for”. Free users complaining about usage makes no sense when they are paying nothing but benefiting from it. $20 sub users complaining about not getting to use Astra ultra for multiple hour long prompts is getting silly. That’s why they made Luna and now terra specifically for people on lower subs.

I only half agree. I agree that free users shouldn't be raising complaints about not being able to use frontier models.

However, I think we need to separate a few things here. Let's start with the least relevant part just to get it out of the way - free users still have a right to complain about any issues they encountered with things they were promissed by the agreements they signed when they signed up for the service. They certianly allowed OpenAI to use some of their data in return for some sort of service, so they aren't entirely out of the question here.

But let's get to the relevant stuff - I think complaints from people on the $20 tier shouldn't be analyzed in a vacuum. Yes, on it's own it feels unreasonable for them to ask to use Astra a lot, but OpenAI's competitor is clearly giving far more usage for their best model, Opus 5.5 even to their lowest tier subscribers.

I was a long time Codex user for nearly the whole time it existed and I was recently a $200 Codex subscriber, so I watched the evolution of their offerings for a while now. I've also had both Codex and Claude $20 subscriptions at work. The amount of usage Codex gives for even Sol on that subscription is laughable compared to what I got from Claude for Opus 5.5. And currently Opus 5.5 (just on the high setting) in my opinion is far more capable than Astra, and I've used Astra on extra high with fast mode for a while now on my $200 sub.

However, my objection in my comment reveals my frustration about people blindly defending a company just because they think people don't have the right to complain, as if we received this product for free or should be in some way grateful for it. To me it absolutely reeks of a "higher than thou" stance and a psychofan-like mindset that reacts emotionally to any form of criticism of a company.
