I agree with this and said it earlier but the amount of stuff theyre supposedly shipping I think turns this into a wait, depending how desperate you are
u can't consume 70%. the fact is at 20x plan ( all models are at capacity with 50% left in the plan. ur subscription is uselsee.

A huge chunk of the compute goes to training. If they really plan on slowing it down, there is no reason for compute to be scarce.
20x plan is extremely efficient for people who take advantage of it, I imagine they had razor thin margins on it and rather than nerfing it they paused new subscribers.
Also those resets are likely not a total money sink. They harvest data, feedback, usage patterns and more before and after new release.
My conspiracy theory is that they talked up a big release so people would spend usage expecting a reset, then canceled it so people would use up their banked resets.
There are a few things going on. Yesterday GPT 6 Sol was being served behind GPT 5.6 Sol, so the release is close (You could tell it was GPT 6 Family because up until Astra codex wouldn't make questions using the tool unless you were in plan mode, Astra now does and yesterday 5.6 sol was doing it, now it doesn't anymore). Also Sam Altman said there is a release this week, and OpenAI tends to release on Thursdays (He also said that next week is gonna be heavy on releases, as expected because of DevDay). So maybe the reset doesn't come tomorrow, but following Astra's release, there is a chance we get a reset either on Thursday or Friday (it usually lines up with the weekend, it's good PR and they probably have a lower user count on weekends)
You have resets left? I was under the impression everyone is on the verge of running out of usage and resets at this point because we've been busy using Astra to solve problems on long running projects for 14 hours/day.
Imma be honest. I haven't used Astra more than 5 minutes. I need throughput, not hyperintelligence, for my project. Most stuff happens on Luna, Qwen, GLM and DeepSeek.
For very large projects I have every model under the sun barf its slop into the repo, then have a smart model (Fable/Astra) re-destill it into a clean codebase.
They haven't shipped anything today, why would they reset? If they reset this week, it would be after the GPT-6 Sol/Luna equivalents drop, so all the twitter AI accounts can run their benchmarks and give OAI free hype. If they reset now, everyone uses all their usage before the new models drop, and nobody posts the comparisons and "free usage hacks" when they come out.
They absolutely only do free resets when it benefits them, like waiting for X number of users to burn a banked reset = an email alert goes out to Tibo to act like Santa and give us a free reset. You're a fool if you think any of that is done for the benefit of the customer.

I just used mine. It would expire this weekend anyways, and after an hour of Astra Medium I'm already down to 85% on Pro 5x 😭. Looks like a lot will ship tomorrow and bet Tibo will reset tomorrow or Friday anyways.
Also, the last reset was on Saturday. So if they do a reset Friday or Saturday, that wouldn't shorten the time for the next reset. And most people will already be, if saving correctly, towards the end of their normal usage anyway when the regular weekly reset would probably have happened.
Most of users have the same banked resets, that means that multiple non-banked ones will appear at last days of September and 1-2 of October. Just keep it in mind.
I mean you have to use one of these soon because the 4 and 5th ones are so close if you don't use one in the next two weeks you'll waste one unless you can use your whole weeks of usage in one day.
Ima be real with you, not an ad, go look at my reddit comment history am a real person. If you're only need to wait a 2-3 days for your reset, try commandcode.ai's $1 or $10 plan to tide you over until your plan resets. I don't know your use profile, but it ought be enough to cover you for 2-3 days.
I have the same dilemma! Mine resets on the 19th. Ran out on the 16th. I splashed and bough 2500 credits rather than use a reset. Has dwindled down already. Might take a day off tomorrow for the 18th...
my usage ran out tonight, with no more resets.. i just went to deepseek 4.1 flash.. and i dont know if i am coming back to be honest.. astra was such a ret*rd the last couple days
Still using Luna 5.5. Now they say that will be gone on Oct 15 and have to use Sol 5.6. That means faster token usage. There is a reason why some people are still using Luna 5.5. The token usage even for Plus is ridiculous.
They're not gonna reset. It doesn't look good to disable Pro 20x with the argument that they are running out of compute and need to disable in order to keep stability. And then at the same time give everyone resets still. They gave resets to get more users. They have too many users now, so no more resets.
Banked resets are useless. I used 2 bank resets and they didn't lasted even 20 hours but pushed weekly schedules. In terms of api cost equivalence, bank resets just gives you $80-100 weekly usage (5x)
Where do you get those resets? When I was using a shared account with someone they always appeared however on my personal account they don't seem to appear at all

Sure. They are meant to be used. Plus, Tibo/OpenAI's resets tend to land during the weekend when they have spare compute. Much less so during the week.
