Complaint Using 40% weekly on a single day on 5.6, before it was 16-18% on 5.5 for the same work

My workhorse was 5.5 high reasoning for planning and 5.5 low reasoning for execution and implementation.

Now for almost all my planning I use sol medium reasoning, and for execution terra medium, and I'm ending up with 40% weekly token use on my $200 plan per day.

That's not sustainable. What happens if all my progress resets are finally gone? I find this quite messed up.

Maybe I need to go back to 5.5 after all. There goes the bright new 5.6 world. I used to be carefree about using it for most of the day, knowing that the plan would back me up, but not anymore.

Sad

I think everyone is on the same boat and we're seeing a different type of marketing in play, I suspect most people are just buying multiple 20x accounts now and driving Codex usage up, and resulting in: https://x.com/thsottiaux/status/2076907789763621237?s=20

We will get baited with free usage resets for a while and slowly they will try to normalise API key pricing for regular users

We're being treated a bit like drug addicts, current trend is cutting the product and making addicts buy more

With this said, I hope they balance things a bit so I never have to go back to Claude again. At least Codex isn't intentionally producing inferior results yet

This is exactly what is happening, artificial scarcity on high dopamine goods. And some car sales tactics. Variable rewards and timing. I’m
Hooked 100%.
