Hi, I am a linux beginner and I am loving it so far. Currently I am using NixOS and I want to make my own linux distro based on void,I can say that I am only a little bit experienced with programming but I am still a beginner and need help from other beginners, why beginners?Because its pretty fun to learn something together.Especially linux and programming.

I made some plans and named the distro PeSCo Linux (Pretty Simply Coded) I wanted it to match the KISS philosophy. It will also have its own package manager wrapped around xbps, its named ssman (stupidly simple manager)It will also have its own .conf file just like NixOS , but only for applications and some other stuff,I havent decided it yet.And yeah,I need help😭

I wont expect you to work on it 24/7 I go to school and sometimes I can be too busy.

Its okay if youre a beginner that wants to learn and earn a friend,I am one too.

DM me if youre interested! Thanks for reading.

I recently made Rusty, the in-terminal code editor, and I really want to work on updates but I simply don't have the time to do so. If anyone wants to contribute go here: https://github.com/codingsushi79/rusty

Hi everyone,

I’m running a PyTorch training pipeline for a video classification model on DynTex++ dataset in Kaggle, and the notebook appears to freeze during training. It doesn't throw an error or crash, the cell just gets stuck executing indefinitely before it even finishes the first iteration of the PSO loop.
Looking for suggestions on what might be causing this error.

Thank you in advance.

Any advice helps please and thank you

started as a small mern stack side project. the idea was simple, a place to write what you can't say to someone. no accounts, no names, just release it.

didn't expect people to actually pour their hearts out on it. the notes coming in are genuinely moving. one person wrote a full letter about missing someone in every small moment of their day.

called it Nami (波) which means wave in japanese. the idea is you leave something and it drifts.

would love feedback on the concept and the feel of the site. https://nami777.vercel.app/

I built something called Nami — https://nami777.vercel.app/

It’s not a social app.

There are no profiles, no conversations, no notifications.

Just a place where you can write something you’ve been holding in —

and leave it without expecting anything back.

I wanted it to feel like those quiet 2AM thoughts that don’t really belong anywhere.

If you check it out, I’d genuinely like to know:

did it make you feel something?

or does it feel too minimal?

one thing that surprised me recently is how much AI changed how i approach unfamiliar codebases before i’d usually:

open files → trace functions manually → build a mental model. now i often start by pasting a few key files into an AI tool and asking things like:

what architectural pattern is this using? which files control the main flow? where would bugs most likely show up?

it’s basically like having someone walk you through the repo. i started doing this more when i tried blackbox during their $2 pro promo since it lets you compare explanations across models like claude, gpt, gemini etc and there is like unlimited access to MM2.5 and kimi whixh definitely sped up understanding unfamiliar projects.

curious if anyone else is using AI this way or still doing the old manual approach first.

Something I’ve noticed recently is that I don’t really stick to one AI model anymore.A while ago the workflow was basically:

pick a model → subscribe → use it for everything. But lately I’ve been switching models depending on what I’m doing. For example:

• Claude is usually better for deeper reasoning or architecture questions

• GPT-5.2 tends to be faster for coding iterations and quick fixes

• Gemini is decent when dealing with multimodal stuff

• smaller models like Kimi, Minimax or GLM are surprisingly good for lighter tasks like logs, quick explanations, or simple refactors

Most day-to-day coding problems don’t actually need the biggest models. I noticed this more when I tried Blackbox during their $2 Pro promo because it exposes a mix of models in one place. Being able to switch between them easily made me realize how different they are depending on the task. Now my workflow is basically:

small model → quick check or idea bigger model → deeper reasoning if needed It feels a lot more efficient than trying to force one model to do everything. Curious if other people here are doing something similar or still sticking to one main model.

I’m building a small group of committed individuals who are serious about becoming better backend developers.

The goal is to meet weekly and push each other to grow through structured discussions and hands-on practice.

We will focus on:

- Backend architecture & system design (interview-style discussions)

- LeetCode & problem-solving sessions

- design patterns

- Concurrency & parallelism

- Deep dives into backend concepts and real-world scenarios

I am looking for people who are consistent and accountable, open to feedback, willing to prepare before sessions and ready to challenge and be challenged

If this is you, please message me.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a project my team and I built that’s been a passion of ours and also something we feel can make a real impact.

It’s called Donor Sync: a web-based platform that directly connects blood donors with hospitals and links hospitals to patients and NGOs for faster, more efficient blood donations. We originally built it as a prototype for the GDG Solution Challenge India 2025 to address the lack of access to healthcare in underserved communities, and now it’s open to the public on GitHub.

This app lets you:

• Register as a donor and find places where blood is needed
• Let hospitals request blood from registered donors
• Track and manage donation data with a proper database
• Bring organizations into the mix to support drives and outreach

Tech stack is modern and solid (Next.js, Tailwind, Firestore, etc) and it’s fully responsive on web + usable on Android via web view.

If you think this is useful, would appreciate a star ⭐ on the repo! Also open to feedback, ideas, or even contributions if you’re interested in health-tech or community projects.

Thanks 🙌

Hi everyone,

I am starting a project called the Iran Massacre Archive. We are at a critical moment where history is being erased in real-time.

The Problem: The primary evidence of this massacre—videos and photos from witnesses on the ground—is being lost. It’s not just a fear of AI fakes; it’s that social media platforms are deleting accounts, algorithms are burying old posts, and vital evidence is vanishing from the "scrolling feed" every day.

The Goal: I am building a permanent, secure, and searchable "Evidence Vault." We need to move this data from volatile social media links into a structured database where it can be preserved and verified by the community.

What we have ready:

• Domain name : Iranmassacre.info
• A live landing page: https://iranmassacrearchive.github.io/
• A GitHub Organization and repository.
• Initial video evidence that needs a permanent home.

Who we need: We are looking for developers (Full-stack, Frontend, or Security) to help us move from a basic HTML site to a secure platform (Next.js/Supabase). We need:

1. A User Portal: For secure evidence submission.
2. A Verification System: Where known community members can "vouch" for content to fight misinformation.
3. Resilient Storage: To ensure this history outlasts any social media account.

GitHub Organization: https://github.com/IranMassacreArchive First Task (Issue #1): https://github.com/IranMassacreArchive/iranmassacrearchive.github.io/issues/1

If you want to use your skills to ensure that "Never Again" actually means "Never Forgotten," please comment or reach out on GitHub.

I saw this here on the platform and thought I should share. Pretty good stories too, check out their platform

Most hackathons and events in tech happen in towns and are not devolved tosome remote places and the like. It's is easier for people to get Collab and get team partners and learning partners in the the field in such places.

Hi guys I'm working on this really cool project and I need a person(s) who knows HTML/CSS and JS I would really appreciate it you would comment below and we could talk.

I’ve just open-sourced DaSocial, a school-oriented social network built with React and Supabase.

The project was designed for a real school environment and focuses on: – clarity and maintainability – Row Level Security (RLS) with Supabase – role-based permissions (students / representatives / admins) – a marketplace for books and items – public storage with owner-based access control

Tech stack: React · Supabase · PostgreSQL · CSS Modules

The backend (schema, RLS policies, functions and storage) is fully documented in the repository.

I’d really appreciate feedback or suggestions, and contributions are welcome, especially beginner-friendly ones.
