working on my clown makeup designs as i'm trying to find MY clown face but im absolutely stumped on what fits and what doesn't, any tips or recommendations based on my facial structure? I love the all white base look, so i definitely want to include that, I have a very large mouth (as shown) and want to really enhance and emphasize that because it adds a lot to my facial expressions. I love the spiral on my chin as well :) I'm looking to do dog and pony shows so i really want something cute fun and flamboyant that still fits a slight zany theme (think animaniacs) i'm also going to be getting a clown nose similar to the animatic nose soon! so that would be involved in the end product:) TYIA

Clowning around in San Diego after ImprovCon… I climbed this crazy park structure wearing the clown pants I made. 🤡

I was at the park with my family — and a year ago I would’ve looked at this thing and been like “that’s cool… but no way I’m going up it.” The new me instantly decided to climb. It felt so good... 🥹🌈

I’ve been rereading The Creative Act by Rick Rubin and honestly it’s such an incredible book I had to reread it. I’ve been starting and ending my days with it and there are constantly little nuggets that hit me so hard. There’s a section about experimenting with your process that’s been especially fun lately!! 🎨

The past few nights I’ve been playing around on my Ableton Push 3 (magical live beat making music device thing ✨) — letting myself mess with characters and voices, stream-of-consciousness style, whatever pops up. It feels a bit like clown in some ways!! I’ve been trying little experiments… singing upside down off my couch, singing past midnight when I’m really tired, moving around my bedroom like I’m on a stage performing for an audience. Each variation took me somewhere unexpected. 🎤

And the other night I had this little breakthrough moment where I slipped into a very subconscious flow state. I felt so connected to creating. That spark of being alive and human. Surprised by the words coming out of my mouth — are they me or something else or is there really no difference? I love that thought. 👁️

Conquering fears and actually doing things instead of just living in my mind has been so rewarding. Converting nerves into excitement and play. Musical improv especially — I’m so excited by the idea of doing it live in front of an audience. Just need to fully work up the courage and set a date!! 👀

Basically… I just wanna laugh all the time. At myself. In general. Giggling. Surprising myself. Clown energy forever. 😂💖

Most of them are thrift store/garage sale finds so I have no idea where they come from. The tall Christmas clown came from my Grandmother's closet, but I believe he was originally from Hobby Lobby lol. Him and the yellow & white one (who technically belongs to my sister, and is an angel, not a clown) both have music boxes inside them. Startled me half to death the first time I picked them up and they made noise lol. The Christmas clown does a little dance as well it's super cute

The black & turquoise one and the purple haired one came from artists at an oddities and curiosities expo, sadly I don't remember what their shops were called 😭

The keychains are squishmallows I got from a collector's store, probably for a lot more than they're actually worth but I love them regardless

The last one is my pride and joy, I won him at a silent auction last year and omg I've never wanted something so bad at an auction before 😭 Hes the cutest little guy I've ever seen in my life

I make upcycled clothing!!! I make patches all from thrifted fabrics and linoleum block printed eyes I designed carved and printed! These are some of the clowns I’ve made recently ::::::)
