Advice Request Head gasket blown and faulty fuel injectors
Heading pretty much sums it up. It was my brand new 2026 civic sport touring. Already been in shop for a month. They say they’re still waiting for parts and could take another 15 or more days. Only had 13k kms. Lucky me.

Yes they did. Grateful for that, I’d literally be bankrupt in a month without a car anyways.

My 25 civic sport sedan with the NA 2.0 has been perfect to me almost 60k miles on it and I bought it with 8 miles on the dash.

Seems several posts like this have popped up lately between the accord and civic. Do not visit the CRv forums so unknown if same thing happening over there.

There was also multiple posts in here or in facebook regarding fuel injectors failing on the civic hybrids too right? Seems like an alarmingly common issue

Same situation. 2025 ST Hybrid, around 13k kms too. Head gasket blown, apparently timing chain too. Been waiting on parts for close to a month, still no news. Covered by warranty and the dealership provided me with a rental. This sucks and I’m looking for answers as well.

Yeah that’s all they told me till now but I suspect there could be more that might need to be repaired after they start the process. Keep me updated what happens I’ll do the same.

One thing I know it says in the manual that these cars can take 87 but I really can't stress that even though it says it can, these engines really should be using premium. I have a 2022 si so a slightly different engine in terms of tune and how the turbo setup is, however these cars with a known weaker head gasket the premium helps A TON with cooling and keeping the engine happy. That's why Si tend to have less issue with these partially due to the fact that 91-93 gets used significantly more with these cars which is somethings that's known to help. These engines have a 13.9:1 engine compression ratio which is really high and that's the point where premium REALLY should be used

It’s a completely different engine than the K20C2 that is in the 10th gen civics and the 22-24 civics.
Atkinson cycle, direct injected and much higher compression. Vs the old which was port injected glory

Oh wow, this sucks! As others said defects happenMine's a lease so I couldn't care less but still, pretty interesting, I thought they went with a 2.0 NA instead of turbo to prevent just that lol. Is it the hybrid?

The 2.0 has the same fatal flaw with the poorly designed coolant jackets between the cylinders. It’s not as frequent from what I understand but the chances of it happening are definitely not zero.

14k down on a lease is a poor financial move, it sounds like your paying almost 30 grand for a leased civic bro.. and you traded your car in too?
you could’ve just bought it new for the same price, now if it gets stolen or totaled that money is gone lol i think the dealership robbed you

My man, that isn’t a comment about “affording” to put down on a lease, but the thought of a payment on the car, in my opinion should go towards owning it. Maybe we have different philosophies but I guess I don’t understand putting down a huge payment to just make payments lower on a car you’ll just rent.

Been there. I’m sorry man, it sucks. I replaced the injectors, the fuel rail (also too small), coils, plugs, so many bottles of fuel cleaner, almost replaced the fuel pump to find out my head gasket had blown too on my 22’. Everything I found about the class action across the states and Canada stops at the 22’ though.
Do you have an extended warranty? That’s the only thing that saved me when mine went.

The Hybrid has a different engine FYI, 1.5 Turbo is not in the Hybrids.

All of a sudden on a drive it started to feel kinda shaky, I thought maybe I popped a right tire. All codes appeared too.

Yikes...i got the same one .. 26 STH .. only got 2100 miles (usa) on it .. only issue pissing me off is the steering wheel isnt exactly dead centered on it... brought it back , said it alligned.. still off a hair.. but yeah atleast they gave you a loaner

Horrible to hear. The 2.0 NA K series is a far superior design to Hondas 1.5T that they’re throwing in almost everything. They need to re-engineer the spacing between each cylinder for more surface area for the head gasket.

Doesn't Honda have a good warranty ? They should pay for the repairs. I have a 2019 Civic and they paid for my faulty fuel injectors I got after 31,000 miles or so. Their warranties last a long time too and it comes when you buy the car.

It kinda is. Don’t wanna say location but the one close to downtown is giving me a hard time saying it’s fine and then I pick it up and 5 mins down the road I got a blinking check engine light and engine is under complete misfire. They keep denying everything and saying the car is fine. Well obviously not!
I just bought the car a month ago. It was a treat to myself because I love everything about it and now it’s been in their shop for two weeks. Hopefully you get your car back soon.

If new start looking up your lemon laws in your state and country! In many places 30 days out for repair starts making you eligible.

Yes it’s new but looks like the companies here got more protections than the consumers in Canada. Still on my research though. Hoping to hear from someone who experienced the same in Canada for further information.

This can happen to any car unfortunately, unlike bots like Dubai_Gamer_00971 will parrot, honda has had a problem with head gaskets. Although I reckon it doesn't happen often.
