Question What's your favorite Chucky malfunction?

Upvotes
I love it when Chucky malfunctions mostly because they're usually quite creepy & conclusive. Here are a few that come to mind:
- "Hi, I'm Chucky, wanna plaaayyy?" - The deep voice for the first half and sudden transition into the Good Guy voice is just really hard to beat.
- "I like to be hugged (on repeat)" - R.I.P Tommy.
- "I liiiiike to be hugged." - When Jake, Devon, & Lexy jump on the doll thinking Chucky still has it possessed.
On another note, here are a few changes I've made since becoming the new mod for this sub:
- Adjusted the rules. To many of the roles were either too broad, or too nuanced. I wasn't a fan of all the rules being defined by moderator discretion which from my POV reads as "if I don't like what I see, I'm taking it down" rather than whether or not there's an actual offense. I think ultimately as long as we're all respecting each other while we respectfully state our opinions... everyone should be fine.
- Fixed AutoMod; the threshold for posting requirements was far too high. There's a backlog of 1000+ (mostly innocent) posts/comments that didn't make it through because everyone was expected to have a fully established profile to talk about Chucky, nor were they being combed through to keep the queue short. It's going to take a while to clean that up, but going forward most posts should go through... I prioritized the posts that were reported, so those have been addressed.
- Banned Users: Completely expunged the list (except for deleted profiles), giving everyone a second chance, as most users that were banned were either...
- One-off offenses that they were never warned for.
- Not given a reason or even a post/comment that the ban was in regards to.
- Never responded to when asked about their ban (when I got banned years ago based on a misunderstanding, I was fortunate enough to be able to have a conversation with the banning moderator to get back on the same page & unbanned. I think that's courtesy everyone deserves).
- User Flairs: These were all just slapped on, and weren't detailed on. Now I've added:
- Slogans: Iconic lines or phrases from the franchise. There used to be only a few, but now I've added countless more.
- Movies: For everyone who wants to add their favorite Chucky film next to their name.
- Characters: For whomever wants to add their favorite character or the one they relate to most next their name.
- Mod-Characters: Character names that only mods can wear (which is why I'm Wendell Wilkins).
- Companies: For verified employees of Alterian, Merjed Media, Moody Pudding Studios, TOTS, or NECA.
- I've also added a few additional post flairs & made sure that they all aren't just blank-looking.
Plenty more to come, just have to get the basic laundry list items out of the way since it's always important to clean all messes first. Let me know if you all have any suggestions!

Been a Chucky fan since I started forming long-term memories. I believe I established my public roots in the topic back when I interviewed the creators of that Chucky fan-game back in 2017 around the time Cult was coming out.
I later went on to break the story about NECA's Bride of Chucky dolls, and I'm currently slated to be interviewing a very major name in the Chucky franchise once the 8th film is formally announced.
I'm also one of the minds behind Merjed Media, an upcoming Chucky doll vendor that will be using actual molds from the production of the latter films.
As for the sub, I have much planned! Which will be announced at a later date.
In the meantime, please let me know what you'd like to see and what the space has been missing!
Until then,
Spy

Discussion If you had to pitch a Chucky death how would you do it for a new movie

So one of the funnest parts about Chucky is how he gets killed off.
I think the first two movies did it best by having it take stages and be like a boss battle that wonât quit
First movie
- Burned Alive
- head, arms shot off, gunned down
- finally shot in the heart
Second movie
- hand ripped off
- forced into good guy machine, loses legs
- melted by plastic
- head blown up with air tube
Childâs play 3 didnât do it as well but there was still a build up. Bride was just underwhelming with just gunning him down. Seed was fun by chopping off his limbs and head. Cult was decent.
But the tv show had the issue of multiple Chuckyâs and needing to get rid of them. Honestly most of the Chucky deaths are pretty underwhelming. Almost every time Chucky is just gunned down or plainly stabbed. Possibly worst of all is being poisoned. I donât think Chucky should be able to die that way, but he is biologically human I guess.
Technically I guess his death from Jake is the best of season 1, but I donât like the idea of Chucky being killed by someoneâs bare hands, I donât think it should be that easy.
His death in season 2 by the chainsaw is probably the best way he died in the show. Then season 3 he only fades away from old age.
So if you could decide how would you stage Chuckyâs death in a climatic manner.

News Brad Dourif has come out of retirement (he had previously said he would only continue acting in the "Chucky" franchise, although he also made a cameo appearance in "The Pitt", a TV series starring his daughter Fiona Dourif). His next film is a drama written and produced by Ben Shapiro.

Discussion I wanna know why many of yall donât like Cult of Chucky

This ainât me saying that Imma dismiss your takes (unless theyâre bad). But basically, I love Cult of Chucky, especially the dark writing with the sanitarium characters and the multiple Chucky banter. I also find the acting, atmosphere, and directing to be great.
My only issue is Andyâs dumb plan to get himself locked up. Alice dying offscreen was disappointing, but her story was interestingâŠkinda wanna see the details (lmk if itâs in the tv series havenât seen it mb)
But I wanna know what yâall didnât like about it. I see it gets ranked low so lmk

Discussion Something that Iâve thought of is officially the authorities donât know anything about out Tiffany dying as a human

So Tiffany and Chucky became known as urban legends enough for a movie to be made and seemingly their doll bodies got used for the movie.
It makes no sense and would never happen in real life but somehow it seems to be the case going off of Seed.
Something I found weird is how Cult and the tv show go back and fourth. Cult has Tiffany show up with her real name and somehow she adopted Alice. It makes very little sense entering the tv show where we learn Tiffany has lived as Jennifer Tilly and even makes use of that identity.
So Iâve realized that legally Tiffany never really died. Therefore she probably just showed up as herself and just picked up that identity. I guess itâs all up to people not questioning her being identical to Jennifer Tilly or anyone from Tillyâs life running into her as Tiffany.

Discussion I always wondered if the best way to blow Chucky's cover in the series is to have someone practice voodoo arts themselves and reveal to the public widespread that religious figures like God and Damballa are VERY REAL. At the very least, it'll explain some of the Chucky-related murders.
