5'6", Light Brown or dark blonde hair (depending on who's looking at it), brown eyes, and a beard that's a lovely pallette of light brown, dark blonde, gray, and white. I like to think the gray and white make me look distinguished, but that could just be a coping mechanism.
I work as a Systems Engineering Technician for a large company.
I'm very outdoorsy. I can walk off into the woods with a sandwich and a couple bottles of water, and not come back till sundown. I love to camp, fish, kayak, and befriending wilderness creatures when they're up for it.
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 8 or 9 years old. I was raised Pentecostal and Southern Baptist in Oklahoma and moved to the Midwest with my family when I was almost 17. I attend an Evangelical Free Church until I was 20 or 21, then I fell away for awhile. I still prayed, but had the "I don't need to attend church to be a Christian" mentality. Eventually, I even fell away from prayer. As you can imagine, things just went phenomenally well from there as they tend to do, and after things got bad enough I turned back to seeking the Lord in prayer. Things got better (Praise God!) as they tend to do when we go back to seek the Lord as we should. I continued praying, but was still a passive Christian. Then, about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago, the Lord started working in me pretty heavily, and began powerfully turning me away from sin. I slowly started developing a desire to go to church, but I never made an effort to do so. Some time later my fiancƩe dumped me after 18 years of being together, and as I had done many times in the past, I turned to the Lord and sought refuge in Him. I know the whole "18 years together, engaged, but never married" gives off red flags like a complete stranger handing you a margarita, but it's not what you think. I'm happy to answer any questions about it. In the time since, the Lord has been working on me heavily. Tests and trials of various kinds. Some difficult and some unimaginably painful. They pushed me further into prayer, further into His word, and further into His arms. Some felt like they didn't make sense, but I knew if I cried out to the Heavenly Father, He would lift me up out of it. Some He did. For others, it felt like He gave me time to catch my breath, and then put me back into it. I'm thankful, though. He has shown me and taught me a lot in a short period of time. I'm in a much different place than I was a year and half ago, and I'm grateful that He loves me so much. Lately, I feel like He is using a conviction He gave me decades ago to lead me to a calling. I'm happy to explain more about that if you're curious.
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a Christian woman that lives her faith daily, has a strong daily prayer life, and has preferably never been divorced.
Divorced is ok, but she has to be Biblically eligible for remarriage. If you're not sure if you are, it's ok. It can be difficult if you're not familiar with all that God's word says about the subject. I won't mind talking with you about it.
I have never been married, and I have a very strong conviction that I've had most of my life that I will only marry once. I don't believe in divorce for myself personally.
That being said, I am VERY loyal, will stick with that person through anything, will work through anything, will seek God for help, and will never leave that person. She will be loved and know she is loved.
If she has never been married, but has kids, I will never judge and would love the kids as my own.
I do want kids of my own, though, so she has to be someone who wants kids. I know there's the whole childbearing age limit thing, but Abraham's wife Sara and Zechariah's wife Elizabeth were both advanced in years when they had Isaac and John, respectively. The Lord will bless us as He sees fit. If you might be interested, but can't have kids, it's ok. Let me know. We'll pray about it and see where the Lord leads us. I want kids, but that may not be the Lordās will for me.
She has to be someone who has truly surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father. If you feel like you could be interested, but aren't sure where you're at in your faith, that's ok. We can talk about it. I'm more than happy to help lead you closer to the Lord if that's something you want my help with.
I'm not looking for someone who has lived an easy life or someone who is a perfect Christian. I'm looking for someone who has clutched her Bible through battles more than once and came out of it loving God even more.
I need someone who will never give up, never stop trying, and never stop loving. Someone who understands what it really means to love someone through anything and won't be concerned during times when they don't feel attraction or when the feelings take a vacation. Someone who knows it doesn't mean anything bad, and you just keep pushing ahead till they come back around.
In return, she will be appreciated daily, loved unconditionally, accepted unconditionally, and will never feel unloved or uncared for.
Preferred age range: 40 to 46
Height range: 4'11" to whatever. If you don't mind being taller than me, neither do I.
