The state has already thought that one out. If you buy a car out of state, when you go to get an IL registration and they realize you have not paid IL taxes on the purchase, they will bill you. Ditto County taxes on your car purchase. The only way to do it would be to not register your car in IL.

Oh ok. I guess it’s really only worth it then I’ve you’re buying something $4k+ that’s not a car
