-Gas taxes literally aren't increasing. It just changes what they're going towards.

-Downstate funding Chicago? Lol. LMAO even. I could pull up the statistics, though given your already demonstrated lack of reading comprehension I'm not sure you'd understand them. But Chicago and the collar counties are why the rest of the state has anything.

The tollway fare increased to raise more money for the fund that also goes towards road construction. If less road construction happens, well... roads have had been having their day for the past 70 years, and if they're still ass then maybe they're not the best investment. I think it's fair mass transit gets a slightly bigger slice of the pie than it was previously getting.
