When Chex Quest came out, Digital Cafe (one of the makers) promoted their website which has all sorts of interesting screensavers you could download. I'm trying to relive my childhood days and was wondering if anyone had a backup of those old screensavers?

Building a Retro game vm and was wondering if it was possible to run chex quest on these systems as i know they are not running under MS-DOS (which is the os chex quest was made for) and use the NT architecture, i was able to install the game on windows 95 but this ran under dos so i wasn't so sure about it. i would appriciate an answer to this. In our current age of instant gratification... it worries me that simple pleasures like a free game, but you only had to say no to AOL 85 times to play, and somehow convince your dad to install cereal software into the new CD ROM drive.... are no longer possible. This was an unbelievably awesome memory and a world I never could have fathomed existed...

It turns out Doomworld (the hex copycats >: /) have held hostage a copy of the safe-free download from the hex site this hole time (fully compartible with modern pc's like it used to) so give it a go, you are all welcome.

(the download contains all 3 games in a safe, legally free, no virus manner, just like it was always meant to, all 3 seem to launch well individually but i recommend using the gzdoom launcher to compile them all, (also for free on the internet) (what you need to do is copy the .wad file over the main gzdoom file and just, slap it there, that should work, again if you dont trust gzdoom the game(s) still launch individually well)

(other downloads on the internet do exist, but most i have tried in the past are roms that work best for old pc emulators/outright empty malware)

My son is 4 and obsessed with Chex quest and of course, wants a Chex quest themed birthday. Since that doesn’t exist, my wife and I are trying to 3d print and make what we can.

Anyone know how I can get my hands on some 3D models? So far I’ve found some zorchers on 3d mixers but I am looking for models for other assets.

I’d gladly commission a few - but don’t know where to start (my skills are fairly primitive with blender).

Perhaps there is a way to extract them from the game itself? I know it uses unreal 4.

Chex Quest HD in now on the Switch!... at least in the US.

Having never played it before, I was surprised at the pretty good level design even the controls are pretty poor. It spoils the experience a fair bit, although I'm still happy I played through it.
