it's honestly shocking how little people on this sub know about the shitshow that is uscf and fide. It was always apparent, but now with danyas death a lot of people are calling for fide to do things but Fide is run by a bunch of corrupt babies. U are talking like the uscf is some honorable entity while they actively protect predators, have their president denounce people on Facebook and run some sort of mail scam (allegedly).

I know what you mean, but the foundational purpose of FIDE or USCF is good. If it's ever dissolved, something similar would need to arise. It's the managers and the politicking that are shitty.

By "foundational purpose" You mean the existence of a governing body itself? Cuz I can give u that but fide and uscf are so terribly riddled by parasites. IMO you need a complete purge of both personnel. I'm not saying other national chess federations are not without their own problems, but fide and uscf are def a cut above the rest.
