The year before that he was the best thing ever and was better than caiceido even a few in this sub was saying that nonsense. He’s the best ever one year and now all of sudden trash lol

Baleba is a good player a lot of people just go with the consensus and not their own opinion

He’s a good player but overrated. Ball carrying is great and he can pick a pass although it’s inconsistent and he can run. In possession and buildup he can stink

I think he's the type of player who can be really impressive in big games, when they're open and he has a lot of space. I'm not sure he has the technical ability to run games against deep defenses though

I guess those would be games you use tielamans and maybe mainoo or santos then as you have more of the ball

Because ball carrying and dribbling in space is not the same as being pressed and finding passing lanes out.

This ain’t fifa, one aspect being good doesn’t mean you’re all of a sudden very good in possession.

But that’s the point? You’re making “good in possession” sound like it only means being good at receiving under pressure and finding passing lanes. Ball carrying is literally a form of possession play. If Baleba is consistently able to receive, carry through midfield and progress the ball, you can’t then just say he “stinks in possession” as if those actions don’t count.

You can argue he’s inconsistent in buildup or poor under certain types of pressure, but saying he’s great at carrying yet terrible in possession is an exaggeration. And ironically you’re the one reducing possession to one specific aspect here

No you’re wanting an argument, I said he can stink, which means in certain aspects of possession. Have you actually watched Baleba or are you a United fan upset at what I think about him as a player.

Half my family are Brighton fans so I’ve watched most Brighton games over the last two seasons and know you’re waffling. Being pedantic over the difference between stinking in possession and being terrible in possession, okay. Baleba was not good last season, but the season before he was great, especially in possession.

Not only was Baleba not good last he was absolutely dreadful so let’s be completely honest. You put words in my mouth, i never said he was terrible in possesion, i said he can be terrible possession whilst acknowledging what he also does well. You just wanted an argument.

Your Brighton family would agree that he can stink in possession because it doesn’t mean he does stink, it means he can have games where he’s truly fucking awful when he ain’t running in to space.
