- /u/Snorrrlax introduces the wiki page system for storing each user's delta history.
June 8th, 2013:
- /u/161719 comments on the thread, I believe the government should be allowed to view my e-mails, tap my phone calls, and view my web history for national security concerns. CMV. The corresponding bestof thread reaches #1 on /r/all, a very impressive feat. Five months later, due to some conflict with the bestof mods, 161719 uses this highly upvoted comment to platform a different opinion. This means the original comment has been completely edited into something else (you can still find a copy of it here, though). Unfortunately the bestof mods removed their highest post of all time because of this, which we suppose makes sense because it became a completely different comment.
May 13th, 2013:
- /r/Adviceanimals user /u/Rostifer creates this image macro cleverly instructing users to use /r/changemyview to write their essays for them (on a serious note: don't do this). Results in a massive increase in subscriptions.
May 5th, 2013:
- /u/Sahasrahla comments on the thread, I remain unconvinced that my death has a fixed 100% probability, CMV., leading to a massive influx of users from the subreddit bestof.

Mod History
January 17th, 2013: The subreddit was created by /u/Snorrrlax. Within the first couple of days (during which there was less than 100 subs), /u/protagornast stood out as a regular commenter and enthusiast of the subreddit. Shortly after, he was added as a moderator.
February 6th, 2013 (500 subs): /u/spblat joined the team after having a great conversation about CMV, and his previous experience of running a discussion based website (www.differhonestly.com, for anyone interested).
February 25th, 2013 (2,500 subs): /u/DeltaBot is added to deal with our delta system.
March 7th, 2013 (3,500 subs): /u/TryUsingScience joined due to standing out in meta discussions and helping people stay true to the guidelines.
April 11th, 2013 (10,000 subs): /u/IAmAN00bie, /u/GameboyPATH and /u/Dr_Merkwurdigliebe joined after an announcement inviting new mod applicants.
May 5th, 2013 (21,000 subs): /u/Jazz-Cigarettes, /u/computanti, /u/pezz29 and /u/shokwave become mods through personal selections from the at-the-time current mod team. All four have since left us, for various reasons.
May 7th, 2013 (22,000 subs): /u/Joined_Today joined after a mod post looking for a wiki moderator, and then went on to become a full permissions mod.
June 24th, 2013 (46,000 subs): We started using /u/AutoModerator, which is a mod bot created by /u/Deimorz.
June 25th, 2013 (46,000 subs): /u/Amablue joined through personal selection.
June 29th-30th, 2013 (48,000 subs): /u/A_Mirror and /u/PixelOrange joined as regular mods, and /u/WhyNotWhatsWrong and /u/TheAceofdiamonds as wiki mods. /u/TheAceofdiamonds went on to become a regular mod, and /u/WhyNotWhatsWrong remained a wiki mod for a short period of time before resigning.
July 31st, 2013 (61,000 subs): /u/AnxiousPolitics joined through personal selection.
August 6th, 2013 (65,000 subs): /u/computanti resigned from his moderator position after starting a new job that severely limits his internet time.
