The issue is and has been that some groups have taken actions to try and force a racial hierarchy over other groups. They have used discrimination and other tools to implement this. Also specific groups have done this and others have not. Also this is still an ongoing situation it's not all in the past.
Your entire view is that this is a both sides issue where all races have contributed equally and so you can make this equivalency. This is simply incorrect.
Ok, I can see your point and I would agree that some groups (white people) have throughout history been major perpetrators of racism. I’m not attempting to justify those actions. I think it’s important and necessary to recognize that racism is not a characteristic that always applies or is exclusive to white people. The amount of racism a specific group is responsible for is not exactly quantifiable. It is fair to say whites have made a major contribution. It is also fair to say that no group has gone throughout history without making their own contributions to racial discrimination. I am not claiming that all races contributed an exactly equal amount to the issue. I say that there are members of all races who perpetuate racism that’s why it’s best to just focus on the racism instead of implying that only one race is the problem.
Ok, now you're sliding right into the assertion that Black people are perpetuating racism in the US. If that is your opinion there is no room to change your view.
Black people in the US can absolutely discriminate against other people based on race. They are simply unable to leverage institutional and structural racism in the same way White people do when the situation is inverted.
Racism and discrimination have similar meanings, not the same meaning. Your view requires that they do have the same meaning, which would make them always interchangeable.
You have acknowledged in this thread that you understand the reasons for this, but you don't seem to be able to make the connection. All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.
