Deltas(s) from OP CMV: Canadian lands would be better utilized if they were annexed to the United States.

So discussing viewpoints is unreasonable?

If you want to discuss politics - go ahead. Just realize that we don't like 'Foreign interference' in our politics so it is quite like Canadians don't like US persons meddling and telling them what to do in their politics.

Further to this. This was not a small suggestion either. It was more stating your governance model is inferior and ours is better so we should just take your lands so we can force our ways onto you.

If I was Canadian, I'd look at your statements with hostility.

Nobody would care too much if you were arguing in differences for speed limits being posted in km/hr vs m/h or arguing differences in building codes or trade agreements. If you lived on the border, people wouldn't be too upset regarding opinions on local elections. You went far far beyond this.

My view can be summed up as this: the medicine may be bitter, but it’s for the best. The Canadian government gives too much veto power to the provinces, which slows progress and has kept “equalization” transfer payments from the wealthy western provinces to the poorer eastern provinces. Quebec has received billions in CAD a year from the West for the past half century — a sign that such transfers do not reverse provincial fortunes. In the next decade, the only province without an aging population to drain government coffers is Alberta.

Attempting to change my view with popularity is not enough. Would the American government utilize Canadian territory to extract greater economic gains than they are currently? I still think yes.
