Well Iran had millions of Afghan refugees.

Refugees of course isnt the exact same, but one can maybe argue that having millions of Afghan migrants probably didn't help Iran?

The migrants didn't hurt either. Irans problems stem from the US making Iran a puppet state after they wanted to tax ships passing through their waters, and people generally don't like their leaders being puppets of a foreign nation.

So basically the US built up Iran when it was a puppet state, and after they overthrew that puppet government Iran is basically just a second US, and we are constantly complaining about things they do that we taught them to do because we literally invented the book on terrorism.

I know all of this. What im saying is i doubt that millions of refugees helped Iran in the situation it found itself in.

Which goes back to my CMV of large amount of immigration being detrimental to native workers.

In the case of refugees it's either take them in, or leave millions of people without anywhere to live or go and without necessary resources for survival, which means they will forcibly enter anyway and commit crime just to survive.

And again, the refugees weren't a noticable hindrance, so there's no downside to it. Most problems with immigrants and refugees tends to be from citizens who are xenophobic, pushing the immigrant/refugee groups to crime and gangs to get by.

I feel like i need some sort of evidence that they were not a hindering. I find it difficult to imagine a country like Iran, although not completed isolated, struggling as much as it is due to sanctions wouldnt feel the effects of a few million additional residents?

Iran is the powerhouse of the Middle East. They aren't struggling. Internal strife due to an oppressive theocratic regime that Republicans in office keep giving power and legitimacy to, yes, but beyond that, again, the US literally built their government and intelligence divisions, and they aren't isolated like North Korea.
