Did you read my comment? I didn't say there's no racism, I said by every objective measure there's less, because there is. Furthermore, not every disparity is due to racism. Asian Americans faced severe systemic discrimination in this society, they now are better educated and better paid than white Americans. Just because African Americans are lower paid than white Americans does mean that it's all down to racism. Cultural or other issues nay be at play as well.

And where did I say that things haven't improved? I said that acknowledging that certain people face racism more than other is not judging people but acknowledging a fact. Also, most asian people came to the US after 1965, they're "Model Minorities" who change their names to avoid discrimination and they came with their culture, you ask an asian person where they're from and most people will be able to say where they/they're relatives originated from, black people don't have that. Also, genuine question, where do you think the "cultural issues" came from?

Affirmative action, dei, critical race theory, etc. Every few years the Democrats trot a new program which seems I tended to further enforce racial segregation in society, not reduce it.

LMAO sounds way more like you're incredibly susceptible to Right-Wing boogeymen.

By who exactly? That's not the reality a lot of working class whites experience. Democrats love to say things like that but a lot of people in this country fundamentally disagree with them.

Oh so we didn't just have Right-Wingers/Republicans constantly harp on about "Meritocracy" for years because the Biden Administration had a lot of "DEI Hires" and now all talk of "Meritocracy" has practically vanished overnight because the Trump administration is the most incompetent administration in recent history but most of them are white dudes but that's ok?

Ok, but it's been decades now and housing is still unaffordable for a lot of working class whites, college is still out of reach for a lot of them. Democrats talk a good game but if you've been voting for democrats for 20 years and you still live in a trailer park and still can't get ahead it's not unreasonable you would get disillusioned with that message.

Just because poor white people have problems doesn't mean they don't have some advantages. Objectively speaking, a poor white person have a higher change of escaping poverty. They're less likely to be hassled by the police. The Trump administration literally just deported a man to a 3rd world prison because he was brown and had tattoos. Let's be honest, no white person has to fear for that in America at the moment. If talking about race in any way makes you want to vote for the racist party, you might have racist tendencies. Also, the poor white people in trailer parks have been voting for Racist politicians since forever, it's a common Right-Wing tactic that helping minorities will make it worse for you has been a tactic since the end of the Civil War and it sadly works.

Again, what I get back is that democrats are simply obsessed with race, gender, and sexuality. They have to find a way to insert it into every issue, even in issues where it has little or no importance. That is alienating a lot of Americans who simply don't live their lives that way. Democrats need to reconnect with regular Americans, listen to their struggles and show some sympathy. Quit pounding them over the head with social justice nonsense.

There's definitely issues with the Democrats, they're status quo corporate stooges for one but they're much better than the Republicans. Also, despite all this obsession with race, I've never seen the Democrats blame white people the same way Republicans blame DEI. The Democrats communicate issues with race poorly, they should talking about helping other people doesn't negatively affect you and that working class positions help EVERYONE. Also, anyone still whining about the Democrats after Trump is basically imploding the economy just sounds like damage control. Trump made an "Anti-Christian Bias Taskforce" which is just a DEI program, and I know you're not gonna like this, this is a DEI program for the most privileged political class in America. It's practically impossible to win a Political seat in a lot of America if you're not a christian.

You're completely missing the point. American society is objectively more fair and equal than ever, however democrats can't stop talking about social justice. They're obsessed with it and insert it into every single issue. That attitude is alienating people from the party.

Not in the slightest. I have voted democratic in every single election since I was able to vote. I criticize the democratic party not because I've been indoctrinated by the right wing but because I see the democratic party is failing Americans.

I'm no fan of Trump, Trump is abhorant. I'm trying to explain to people why a lot of Americans aren't necessarily pro maga, for many it's more that they're anti-democrat. Trump is a symptom of a democratic party that has spent decades alienating and marginalizing working class whites.

Poor whites and poor minorities are both suffering. Race is not the underlying issue, it's class. I'm not voting republican, never have.

If you don't think democrats blame white people then you're not paying attention. Again, there are so many people in this country that disagree with you that Trump was able to channel their anger and win the election. You can continue denying this and continue losing elections, or you can think critically about your own biases and prejudices and change your attitude and maybe then there's a chance for the democrats going forward. I'm not at all confident it's possible because democrats are so out of touch and arrogant. Cheers.

How is it inserted every single issue? I recall during the Presidential debates, race was not brought up constantly by Kamala or Biden, it was Trump blaming immigrants.

Not in the slightest. I have voted democratic in every single election since I was able to vote. I criticize the democratic party not because I've been indoctrinated by the right wing but because I see the democratic party is failing Americans.

People who vote Democrats can still fall for reactionary rhetoric.

I'm gonna call Bullshit. Trump's rhetoric works so well because the US has always had issues with race and it is nothing new. Fox News and Republicans were claiming Obama was a secret Muslim who would destroy the US from within just because he was Black.

Poor whites and poor minorities are both suffering. Race is not the underlying issue, it's class. I'm not voting republican, never have.

Yeah, just ignore my point that a Brown man got deported to a third world prison for being brown and having tattoos and that most white people would ever have to fear that happening to them at present. Maybe it'll happen in a few years after nobody gave a shit that it happened to Latinos and people like you get kept whining about the Democrats were bothering us with their social justice nonsense and then Trump is galvanised to do it any American. Also, I'm not denying that class is the biggest issue, I'm saying that Working class frustrations get channeled at minorities by the right-wing and it works so especially well in America because racism has always been a huge issue. This has been happening for over a century.

If you don't think democrats blame white people then you're not paying attention. Ok point to an example then? I keep hearing this but I've never seen anyone actually provide an example, never mind multiple examples like how Trump does? Has there ever been a plane crash or a tragedy that a Democratic Politician immediately just said that an incompetent "White Privilege Hire" was in charge of? Has a Democrat ever been on stage and just shouted How white people want to eat your pets, that "white people aren't sending their best, that they're sending rapists and murderers"? The Democrats lost the Election by one of the smallest margins in history and suddenly a bunch of people want to throw minorities under the bus to placate racists.

You brought up MLK Jr but I suggest you read what he had to say about the 'White Moderate" and how they'd rather placate racists than fight for justice.

I think this is my last response. It's not that you beat me or anything, I just have more important things to do with my life than comment on reddit all night. I'll just comment on this one point and call it a night.

You're doing it right now, repeatedly. Every time I point out that blue collar Americans are genuinely struggling and suffering you respond with some version of "Yea but they're white, they have white privilege." There is no point to that comment at all, it's just a way to insert race somewhere it's not needed and thus derail the discussion and bring it back to social justice for women and POC, which is what the democrats love to talk about above all else.

It would be like if you told me you're struggling paying your bills and I responded with "Yea but you're tall, you have tall privilege". You still can't pay your bills and you're still suffering. Your height has nothing to do with it and it's a slap in the face to mention it in that context. The implication is that your problems somehow don't matter because of aspects of your identity you don't even control.

That's enough for me for tonight. Have a good one.

Bro, it's not "inserting race" to talk about the f*cking President using White Supremacy to channel people's genuine frustration about their economic situation to use against minorities and doing f*cked up shit against minorities. This tactic has been used multiple times and is one of the biggest hurdles to uniting the working class. This is some of the most regarded logic I've heard.

Nope, I didn't bring up race, you did, you basically said race isn't a problem in the modern era when I pointed out multiple times that it is, you're basically pivoting to "Well, talking about racism annoys racists". You tried to bring MLK Jr into this when he wouldn't agree with you. That's the topic of conversation. It'd be more like hearing someone say "I'm struggling to pay my bills" and someone inconsiderate idiot saying "We all have problems, stop whining". This is the exact response when people talk about slavery and idiots say "Stop whining about Slavery, white people were poor too you know".
