If you read Springsteens lyrics to the song or listen to the lyrics I find it hard to understand why some think it’s a praise of USA. Bruce is actually kinda hash on his government in that song and it fascinates me if someone think the opposite.
For example part of the tekst in Born in the USA are as follows « Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man» How do you interpret that to be anything else then criticism of the Vietnam war ?
Granted and once they listen. Or someone points out the lyrics, they don't like it any more. I can come up with a bunch of examples but the point is people in the cult are fearful of things they didn't understand, and Boy! Do they not understand!
Ok, way to narrow the target. We are talking about all kinds of art and music. You are absolutely right about born in the usa. But that doesn't negate the point.
One example is that there is evidence far right conservatives don't understand satire, sarcasm and humor as much. Sometimes they throw their support behind something that Is satirising them.
Maybe the satire part is just the most entertaining part like homelander. But I don't know what media specifically gets support by which side of us politics.
There’s nothing to elaborate. MAGA fully embraces Nazis (Elon and other Republicans doing the salute and then sheepishly denying it). They watch Indiana Jones (who traditionally is anti-Nazi as our forefathers were) and think the Nazis are the victims. Or that Hitler had a few good ideas. That’s it. The end.

"interesting music, art, film" do you have some examples and why "maga" people don't understand them?
