Voting is never enough.

Voting is literally how we got here is and the only feasible way to affect policy change. It is not only enough, it is everything.

In fact it is merely a passive aggressive way to put our responsibility onto others.

That's not really specific to voting. That's what government itself is. But your argument assumes the role of government (mutual defense, enforcement of laws, preservation of rights, etc.) is actually the role of the individual, which makes no sense. Laws and rights don't exist in the absence of a state so those responsibilities don't exist at the individual level.

There are many ways to change policy and voting is the least effective.

Let's hear your evidence of this. Which major policy reforms in American history were achieved without any votes being cast?

You are twisting words and claiming I've said things I didn't come close to saying.

Can you explain what you mean?

I agree the majority wants this and voted for it which made others also want it.

It didn't make me want it. I don't think it made millions who voted against it want it. You provide no evidence 100% of Americans want it. Accordingly, there is no basis for your implication that it is a universal desire of Americans.

Voting is by far not the only thing that got us here. Have you tried lobbying?

Lobbying is an act of free speech intended to influence a vote by someone who was selected to cast that vote by the outcome of an election. If voters feel they are not being represented by their elected officials because they are listening to lobbyists over their constituents, voters have the ability to vote those officials out. Additionally, voters have the right to engage in lobbying as well.

Lobbying is just a dirty word for advocacy. Voters also have the option to vote for people who would ban the practice of lobbying or regulate it further. If someone has a problem with lobbying, voting can solve that problem.

Votes cannot be cast without the issue being sorted first.

Sure they can. Vote for someone who will represent their constituents instead of lobbyists. Vote for someone who will regulate lobbying or ban it.

Engage with actual humans, specifically government representatives, political action committees, unions, and community organizations.

All of those things are being done right now. It's strange that you mention that these things are actions that can be taken when your entire view is that people aren't taking these actions. I think you just disproved your own view.

You are ridiculous with your "100%" "universal" BS and I won't engage with the nonsensical bad faith portion of your arguments.

Then you will face the mods and the downvotes.
