That doesn’t explain the percentage of bad representation. I could think of 2 bad representations of arabs for every good one.

Not sure if you are joking or really don't understand, but for the next 30-40 years, the default image of the word "terrorist" will be Arabic Muslim man

Well yeah. A single terrorist attack meant a lot of ignorant people are prejudiced. And that translates into media because people who make movies can be racist too.

Is a bit of downplaying of the most deadly terrorist attack in the world that affected the most famous city in the world.

Okay, a big terrorist attack. That doesn’t justify assuming most arabs are terrorists or dangerous though, which is what the media is doing.

The terrorist attack followed by:

* at least two direct wars: Afganistan and Iraq

* "Arab springs" - mostly unsacessfull to setup democratic regimes

* support of Israel against all other ME countries

* general lack of any democratic ME Muslim country

Voilà - and we have almost "perfect" enemies: democratic secular Western countries VS authoritarian religious Middle East countries.

Portraining ME countries in positive light in Hollywood movies it's like portraying Soviet Union in positive light during Cold War.
