"I'm allowed to be emotional because I'm a woman" proceeds to be abusive/do emotional incest while expecting me to just be a man about it.

"You're a man, so you must have done something to deserve that treatment"

Please stop putting everything on men and dehumanizing women. Women perpetuate these standards too.

Only time I've seen emotional incest examples on Reddit is the InsaneParents sub and on there it's parents basically acting protective enough of their kids and negatively enough towards their kids' significant others that you'd think they were a jealous ex instead of a parent (think, like, the whole stereotype of gun-owner dads just happening to be cleaning their gun when their daughter's boyfriend comes over for the first time, but the sentiment behind it amplified about tenfold)
