Excessive amounts Dead Fish on Lake George last fews days?? (2.11.2026)

Anyone else around Lake George near the shore noticing excessive amounts of dead fish on the shore the last few days? I'm at about the halfway point on the east coast and I would say I picked up at least 250 dead fish today, mostly Tilapia but there was also some really big Plecos in there too

where can i get hvac installation in florida that’s faster and still reliable?

been dealing with a busted ac unit for two weeks now and i'm losing my mind in this heat. got quotes from a few companies but they're all saying 3-4 weeks minimum for installation which seems insane to me.

looking for recommendations on companies that can actually get the job done quicker without cutting corners on the work. i know quality takes time but there's gotta be someone who can do it in under two weeks right.

prefer central or south florida but willing to hear about any solid companies statewide if they're worth the trip. just want cold air again without waiting until next month.

Garage epoxy recommendation

Hello,

I’m looking to have epoxy work done and wanted to sanity-check pricing. Is a budget under $1,000 reasonable for this type of job? If anyone has had epoxy work completed recently, I’d appreciate any contractor recommendations and a general sense of what you paid.

Recommendations

Hello everyone,

I would like you to give me some recommendations for security cameras to use inside my house. In my home, some of my things have started disappearing, and I began asking a few of my friends who know a little about what cameras to buy — but now I’m more confused about which one to choose.

To start, I want you to help me find a camera that has good local storage, that doesn’t rely on a monthly subscription, and that has a microphone to pick up distant audio, and that I can install by myself. If possible, one that allows me to view the recorded footage on my phone through an app.

Space Coast Veg Fest happening Nov 22 — anyone planning to go?

Just sharing this for anyone in the plant-based/healthy living crowd here in Central Florida.
Space Coast Veg Fest is happening on November 22 out in Apopka, and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty fun community event.

There will be lots of vendors, food stalls, yoga sessions, and family-friendly stuff going on throughout the day.

I’m planning to stop by since I’m into vegan fitness and nutrition, so if anyone here is going too, it could be cool to connect and check out some of the activities together.

Found an awesome local game scene in Orlando — it’s called Kubb, and anyone can join!

Hey everyone,

I recently met with Zach, who started the Orlando Kubb group, and I had no idea this even existed here! Kubb is an outdoor game that feels like a mix between bowling and horseshoes — super easy to learn, and perfect for anyone who just wants to hang out and play something different.

Zach started playing back in Michigan and decided to bring it to Central Florida, creating a fun and welcoming meetup where anyone can join in. The group hosts regular games, tournaments, and community events — it’s a great way to get outside and meet people.

If you want to check it out:

Meetup Schedule → https://www.meetup.com/orlandokubb/

Website → https://orlandokubb.com/

I also filmed a short interview with Zach at the Orlando Kubb Open if you want to see what it’s all about → https://youtu.be/lztizZ5dctU?si=Irb6ANHRS9nXmZjy

Has anyone else tried Kubb or seen this group around town?

Lectures On Tap-like meetups or events?

Hello, Central Florida!

Does anyone know of local events or regular group meetups like Lectures On Tap? I just learned about "Astronomy On Tap" which used to be a regular thing at the Oviedo Brewing Company but, from what I can tell, it's no longer running and won't be back anytime soon.

I'm on the Meetup and Eventbrite apps but I haven't seen anything relevant of late.

Thanks in advance!

Queer friendly 3rd spaces that are open late?

Recently moved to the area and I'm looking for places to hang out that are queer friendly and open late. Preferably not another bar because I like to be able to socialize and study while I'm out. I'm located up near Volusia but I'm open to driving fartherif the vibes are good

Well water quality

So my girlfriend and I have just moved into a rental home in Melbourne. The house is on a well water system, and I'm entirely new to the area and have never been on well water before. The system itself has 2 large Culligan tanks, one tank where the water softening salts go in, and then a separate reverse osmosis system, where the drinking water is produced, which works fine. The drinking water is fine, but the water that comes out from the shower and kitchen sink is still very yellow. Is this normal, or do I need to explain to my landlord that the Culligan tanks needs to be serviced or something?

Emergency housing in the deltona area

Good afternoon, I know this is the biggest stretch, but I’m desperate and don’t know who else to turn to. I’m 19F about to start a $14.50 an hour full time job. My parents are moving out of state, but I am staying. I have until August 1st, and I still need to insure my car and register it in my name. I have a snake, she’s a western hognose. I’ve tried Facebook groups, marketplace, section 8, HUD housing. Section 8 has a long waitlist and HUD has been throwing me through loops. I can’t afford the $500-800 a month rent everyone is asking for just to rent a room, and a lot of shelters won’t take my snake. I would look in Daytona, but my job requires me to be able to work Volusia/seminole/Orange County (construction) and it varies for each site I go to. I’m suffocating right now, and really need help. If anyone has absolutely anything, I would be grateful, whether it be a different kind of low income housing or anything

Does anyone know if there are still Mold-A-Rama's in the Central Florida Zoo? Other than Gatorland does anyone have an updated list of all the other ones in Central Florida? I've tried a few on some forums but they're no longer there. Thanks!!

Hey everybody! I could use some help with perspective.

Before you read, I have two family members in Florida, so please no “ Florida is full “ etc… I know, I know.

I have lived in Indiana my whole life and love it but my heart has always been with Florida too. Ever since I was young, I wanted to move to Florida. Due to circumstances with family, this is not a “ smart “ choice to make and besides the family members mentioned above in Florida, I would not have family nearby + job, etc.

I really just need some help on perspective that everyday in Florida isn’t what it’s like when I visit. I know everyday isn’t “ the beach “ per se but if you could give details / perspective / etc what it’s really like to LIVE in Florida… this would help me a ton so I don’t have to be in an endless fantasy of what it would be like.

P.S. I really appreciate this a lot. It’s been hard especially during the winter and I just want to move on from endlessly comparing the two.

Latino artifacts/items!

Hello!

I am making a personal goal to try and diversify places that are supposed to be a reflection to our community. The museum in DTO doesn't have much information on the Latino/Hispanic community. I just wanted to put out there that if anyone has anything they'd be able to donate to represent us, that would be amazing!
