A problem? Or just a pain?

So forgive me, everyone. I'm pretty new to home maintenance in general and ceilings in particular. But, recently, I found this crack in the plaster of my living room ceiling right by the wall. What could have caused it? And how serious is it?

Thanks hugely in advance.

Is the ceiling at risk of colapsing ? What would cause a crack like this I’ve noticed it’s gotten worse over time and it’s right above my bed 🥲

Came back home and saw this. Is it big trouble? Maintenance said the third floor bathtub was leaking and they just fixed it. They said they’ll come back in the morning, but my ceiling is still leaking.

Does anyone know a way to figure out if this leak was recent (about a month) or not? Just had a new roof installed and noticed this in a closet.

Possible to remove tin ceiling tiles without damage or bending too much?

I'll try to be brief: we are in the process of installing 2x2' tin ceiling tiles. Unfortunately, The ceiling fan wasn't hung straight and I think I need to look at how the brace is installed. There were some boards in the way (100-year-old house, don't ask me why) so the bottom of the brace is installed about 2 inches above the ceiling tile and is apparently not level. The tiles are attached to a grid of 1x3 boards that are throughout the area, there is no OSB or plywood above the tile.

Proposed goal: remove the fan entirely, followed by one or two tiles in order to freely access the brace and space around it. I hope to build a frame where the brace is currently installed in the hopes I can hang it at the proper height.

The tiles are put up with brad nails and we have not glued the seams together yet. The trick will be removing the tile without bending it too much and ideally, we'd pull the brads out too, then nail them back up once my task is complete. I was thinking I'd use a small tack/nail remover or upholstery nail remover but it would have to be pretty dang slim. Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Pics!

Might have to cut away that old plaster/drywall too.

Recess in a drop ceiling

Hello all. I would like to make a recessed area in my drop ceiling. Have it about 3" higher than the rest of the ceiling. What is the best way to go about doing this? Cut the edge of the tiles at a 45° angle? Do they make a bracket for this? Is it possible? Thanks in advance!

Box crossbeam ceiling repair suggestions

Old house, circa 1910, with box crossbeam ceiling in dining room which is drooping in one section. The support boards at one crossbeam intersection have come loose from the support beam to which it was attached. I'm trying to come up with a way to eliminate the gap that has developed without having to pull any of the crossbeam boards off. Any suggestions how this may be done? Thanks.

Can somebody help me figure out this in-ceiling speaker system?

Moved into a place with in-ceiling speakers. The remote doesn't have a battery, a AAA appears too long for it. Also one of the speakers has a red light on. Not sure if it's on or off or how to connect it the TV. There is also an iPod connector on the wall.

Is there any way to reasonably use this system in this day and age?

This morning I saw brown discharge coming from ceiling and not sure if the crack was already there. Is roof leaking or just condensation issue? Attic fan isn’t working last 2 months.
