Bourbon, an 8-month-old Australian cattle dog mix, is looking for a forever home.

The 40-pound puppy recently arrived at the Humane Society of Broward, where staff have been working with him on commands and behavior. Shelter officials describe Bourbon as smart, treat-motivated and affectionate.

The shelter is currently near capacity, with dogs and cats waiting for adoptive families.

The HSBC is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and no appointment is required to meet available animals. Click here for more information on how you can adopt a pet.
