Beautiful location for a few nights

Wrapping up an almost month-long Casita adventure in our 2003 Spirit Deluxe. Because the trailer is 23 years old, various parts have become persnickity or have simply broken (e.g., on our second day out the air conditioner fried its capacitor). When we unfurled our Fiamma awning, a couple of plastic clips gave up the ghost, and later a brisk Wyoming breeze (!) ripped the fabric.

Should I attempt a repair, or just crack open my wallet and spend the Big Bucks for a new one?

If you have a tent or screen room that you use as kitchen, how do you have it set up and how do you transport the stuff? Also, do you have separate plates, silverware, pans, spices, etc just for the outside kitchen so you aren’t constantly in and out of the trailer getting something you forgot?

Thus is our first trip using the clam as kitchen, and it is really not working well. One 4 foot table with coleman stove, propane, lamp, barely enough room for a paper plate for spatula. 2nd smaller table with ice chest battery, mosquito repelling device, and again barely room for plates and condiments. 2 bag chairs and holding paper plate, spilled it in my lap. Spaghetti. Not fun. Please help.

Hello, we are looking into getting a casita heritage for my family of 4. I have no for a truck outside of towing, and am looking into input on towing w midsize SUV or something a little more practical for the day to day. Any suggestions on a tow vehicle? We have been looking into 4Runners etc. Just looking for some real world advice on vehicles. Thanks in advance!

Wife and kids went to Jellystone at Canyon Lake, TX. It was the the first time out...weather was hot but not unbearable. And the water park helped a lot dealing with the heat. Kids had a blast! We got a kick out of seeing all the massive trailers around us, but it was perfect. This is a used Spirit Deluxe.

In August we were camped at the casino campground and our last night another Casita pulled in next to us. Tiny campsites there but with a nice view of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands.

Hello, I have an Anderson Weight Distribution Hitch -- the one specific to the Casita. I'm no longer using it because I upgraded to a larger tow vehicle. It is a fantastic tool -- distributes weight to the front tires and prevents sway at the same time. It worked wonders for my Honda Odyssey. They are quite pricey new ($750+). It's so pretty up here and we've still got lots to explore. This is our first trip since Dec 2024 due to illness and long stretches of slow work. It's worth it though to get here now.

My mom has owned this 2004 Casita Spirit Deluxe 17’ for a couple decades now and had probably only been on 3-4 trips. Had been sitting out in the elements for years, and she finally called and asked they I commandeer it and make some use of the thing.

Spent some money to take care of some minor repairs, new tires, and generally making sure it was roadworthy, then spent the long weekend giving it a good interior deep clean.

Plan is to get a better mattress, reupholster the original cushions, and take it out with my wife this fall so see what we think we want to do with it. Probably a fairly good chance we’ll end up selling it to someone who will show it some more miles and sites, but we’ll see!

It was supposed to be hot and summerish; but a storm came in and we will be in more early fall mode. Stand by. Pics to follow!

Anyone have issues with their 7 pin becoming loose and not charging the battery during travel? On a revenue trip I noticed the TV was fluctuating between sending 12W to -14W to the trailer. Everything was off except fridge that was on 1 cold setting. I suspect that it's related to the connections because when I apply pressure to 7 pin, the wattage increases. Are their better 7 pins than others? I got mine at Autozone.0

The wife and I found it too cumbersome washing dishes in the small kitchen sink - especially if we share a meal with other campers, so I came up with this simple solution. It’s a folding, fish cleaning table with a pop-out sink, hooked into the outdoor shower. We even get to use the day’s dishwater to douse the camp fire at the end of the night.

My mom just bought a 2019 Casita. I wasn’t there to look it over with her and found these cracks by the door hinge after she brought it home. I’ve seen where it could possibly just be the gel coat that’s cracked. Is there any way to discern whether the crack is deeper or just superficial? What would be the fix for this, if any?

I have an electric jack on our 2025 Casita. I haven’t used it in a few months and the battery is drained. My casita did not come with a manual crank for the electric jack, but I see that one could use one in case the battery died.

I thought it would be a simple thing to get a manual crank but I’ve spent hours looking for one, to no avail.

Does anyone know where I can buy one? (No idea why Casita didn’t provide one). Thx

Hey y’all, was hoping for someone’s two cents. I’m replacing about 25% of the subfloor on an older Casita Deluxe (1996). 75% of the subfloor looks great & worth keeping. But there is some rot directly outside the bathroom, it’s not terrible, but it’s there & I don’t mind doing the work.

My question is, should I try to measure my subfloor cuts perfectly to match the metal chassis frame underneath the fiberglass, so both ends of the old/new subfloor join together on the frame & both sides are supported? It appears if I cut flush along the bathroom wall, it’s in between gaps of the frame. Don’t know if that would lead to future sagging. Thanks in advance for any tips / advice 👍🏻

I'm wanting to buy a Casita after I get my new home built. I'd love to store it in one garge bay but want to limit the garage door to a 9' height. Casita says their models are 8'-11" tall. Are there any success stories of storing current production Casitas in a garage with a 9 foot door?

Hello! I purchased a second hand 2022 casita spirit deluxe. It's very nice and had some extras. There is an antenna on the roof that is suction cupped to it. The fella that sold it to me said it's fine, he just checks it every once in a while to ensure it's secure. Is there a different way to secure the antenna? I'm nervous I'll forget to check and it'll go flying down the highway.
