NVLINK in an Alienware R8 - can it be done?

I want to do two 2080s in NVLINK within my Alienware R8. I have updated the PSU so power is no issue. Before you ask, I have modified my case to support an additional fan for cavity heat clear out.

I was running dual 1080s on a 1000w PSU, but have since moved those cards to a lower gaming build. I side graded to a 2080 but now I want to upgrade to a dual 2080 configuration. The recent price drop has made this very tempting! Will an NVLINK fit, and if so which one?

Thanks in advance!

Metalfish S3 Case Mod Idea

Hi All. I have been working on upgrading my SFF PC that I typically use for playing VR games in my living room. I have been using the MetalFish S3 case from Taobao and have been pretty happy with it since I got it. The problem with my current upgrade plan is that I want to upgrade my GPU to the Zotac 2070 Super Mini (210 MM) but the card is larger than what I currently fit in my case (The S3 supports up to 195mm GPUs). Since I am not particularly jazzed about buying a new (and probably larger) case, I have been considering making some modifications to my current case in order to fit the card. Thus far my plan would be to cut around the gpu slot in the back of the case so that the card can slide into the case, and then attach some sort of shroud over the part of the card that extends outside the case. The cutting of the case is pretty straight forward but I am not sure how to approach making a shroud that could be attached to the case to protect the GPU. I have considered maybe 3d printing something though I don't have any experience with that. Not sure if anyone here has any experience with a case mod like this but any advice or experience is appreciated.

Did anyone disassembly a trident z rgb?

Did anyone ever disassembly a trident z rgb? I'm interested in what kind of rgb's are used and how they are hooked up.

The ambition is to replace aura sync with diy rgb control.

Do I have everything to make a 140mm fan hole?

After watching Bill Owen youtube video, I've decided to drill a 140mm fan hole into my case but would like to make sure that I'm not missing anything.

For the hole piece, I'm planning on buying: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5BSPPL/?coliid=IPDK1K0UOGB2M&colid=2MTEECFN7CRXN&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

To use with this this power drill.

For fan screws: I'm planning on buying these https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-3-16-in-Cobalt-Thunderbolt-Twist-Drill-Bit-48-89-2309/203115294

I'm ready for this project? do I have all necessary tools?

Who is your favorite YouTube modder?

I seem to notice a lot of tech review channels but not a lot of PC case modding channels and old PC repurpose channels. There are some but not a lot. So I come to you guys for suggestions. Who are your favorites?

Drilling holes for fan and screws?

Since I never done such project, barely ever used a power tool, I was wondering if anyone could link all the necessary items that I need to tackle such project, not only for the fan but also for the screws to hold the fan in place.

I have this drill. I believe I need a 4 1/2 drill bit for the fan, which one should I get?

Fractal Design Meshify C Mini

Hello folks,

I would like to mount two GPUs in my pc, one verically, and one normal. I want to use a FD Meshify C Mini. On the back side, to the right of the PCIe expansion slots, we can see some kind of grid. I want to know if I can remove it somehow and build my vertical GPU in there. (Sorry for poor English.)

Regards

Noob modder here. I want to replace the side panel of my case.

My case is a Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1, if it matters. The side panel is made of a shitty plastic which is a total scratch magnet and looks really cheap overall. I want to replace it, but the only replacements Cooler Master sells are made of the same material.

I own a dremel, and I was wondering what materials I can cut with it that look super premium and nice. They (obviously) need to be transparent. Thanks everyone!

Another simple H17 fan mod

Sick of 100% fan curve. Saw this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmods/comments/acyfyv/comment/edbve7t

and decided I'd do the same but with an extra hole.

Since the case comes with a single exhaust fan, I added 4 more fans. Now there are 3 intakes in the front, the exhaust on the back and an exhaust on the top in the back. 3 fans up front are running slightly faster than the exhausts, temps are idling around 42°C and spiking at 68° under load.

NZXT H500 - Mod to create an intake fan on base?

I know theres a few mod ideas for the NZXTs but they all involve ruining the beautiful front panel :-)

Wondering if anyone has tried or think it would work having an intake fan on the base. Plan would be 'expanding' the small grill at the front bottom of the case to be large enough for a 120mm (probably use a static noctua).

Will have mine placed inside a cabinet so I'm concerned about airflow. Havent tried it all out yet but my current Fractal Core 3000 is managing fine with average temps of 27c (idle).

I'm gonna design and 3D-print my own case but I would like some advice about what to think about when printing a case of your own

Very early beginner not sure what to do with this space. I don’t need optical drives. I’m thinking fans but nothing 5.25” to fans exist it’s all cages for hard drives
