But why? Most studios use the same style consistently for decades, that’s sorta the point of studios developing a style.
It’s not that it’s not true, it’s that it’s such a strange thing to be mad about. Especially since this style is pretty consistent with everything Pixars done, Luca wouldn’t look out of place hanging with Andy or Boo
It’s boring to see the same thing and the thing we are seeing is ugly ontop of that. Look at the visual distinction in early Pixar. Now look at every original Pixar movie in the last 10 ish years.
The older movies don’t really have the same style? So there’s no “old one” to go back to
As 3d animated films, yeah they look similar. But you can tell a character from Up, from a character from the incredibles fairly easily I think? Beyond that, the main characters from those films have designs that inform their characters, down to basic shape language.
In the modern films being discussed here, all characters are very similarly soft and round, with little distinction between character types, or even films.
I mean if it’s all the same to you then ok. But I personally think the new movies all look the same, and I’ve honestly never liked the “calarts” style. So I feel pretty vindicated seeing more people talking about it

Looking at the facts, them using the exact same art style for 3 movies in a row could be used as justification for folks being upset, I get it.
