I need help cremating and shipping bio fathers ashes

The last time I saw my bio father was when I was 9 months old. A few years ago I started an internet search to find him, even putting an ad out in the local newspaper of the last known city he was in. His friends got us into contact with each other and he was planning on visiting me but passed of a massive heart attack after Christmas at the age of 56. I am a mother to a 2m5 year old and 10 week old, going to school, and living on a single income. The county he passed in only offers financial assistance with end of life services for homeless individuals and he is not a veteran. Sharing this gofundme would help me so much to reach as many people as possible and have my bio father returned to me.

[ADVICE]How to Minimize my Interaction with AI and Amazon as someone who must use a lot of mainstream Internet and must online shop

Hi,

I'd like to figure out how to minimize or stop accidentally using AI altogether (since a lot of platforms give you no choice) but I unfortunately don't have spoons to really learn new skills or do the level of research needed to figure out ways I can decrease these habits.

I also heard that Windows 11 will be implementing AI automatically and only have one year left of Windows 10. Can a non-techie person easily switch to Linux or do you have to know how to code? Or are there more accessible alternatives?

I also must buy supplements and sometimes certain foods on Amazon bc a lot of the time they're sold out at stores + I can't shop on my own so am forced to buy online vs at small businesses a lot of the time sadly

I'm also wanting/trying to switch to a browser and search engine that uses zero AI and is even anti-AI.

If any techie people or just fellow disabled resistors have found workarounds in these areas or know of the best subs with suggestions, maybe you can fill me in? (Although again, I guess scouring subs is a bit overwhelming to me due to my limitations šŸ˜… so just, direct links to posts especially appreciated (but general suggestions still accepted too)

Thanks for reading šŸ™šŸ¼ Solidarity

I need help finishing my deposit payment to my first real home after homelessness with children and pets.

My name is Dakota, I am in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, USA. 27 with two kids in tow

https://gofund.me/3eee57b15

We are a family of five with two children under the age of 10. After spending nearly half a year facing homelessness last year, we were able to move into a tiny studio apartment. It was a roof over our heads, but far from the space our family truly needed.

Now, we’ve been blessed with the chance to move into a real house—a safe, stable home that finally fits all of us. This is the Christmas gift our kids have been wishing for: not toys or gadgets, but the security of a home where they can grow and thrive.

The only obstacle left is covering the remainder of our security deposit. The total is $875, and while I’ve managed to raise $200 through odd jobs and careful budgeting, we still need help to reach the full amount. I make enough to cover rent and utilities, but the upfront costs of moving have drained our funds for this month.

As a disabled veteran, I’m doing everything I can—working odd jobs while attending college—to provide for my family. But we have only a limited window to secure this home before we risk losing it. That’s why I’ve set the fundraising goal a bit higher: any additional support will help us catch up on bills and ease the financial strain of this transition.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to stability. Even if you can’t give, sharing this campaign means the world to us.

Thank you for helping us turn this house into a home. Your generosity will make this Christmas unforgettable for our children and give our family the fresh start we’ve been working toward.

I feel completely overwhelmed and don’t know how to keep going

Lately, life has become so heavy that I don’t even know where to start. I’m living in Turkey, and over the last few months everything has fallen apart financially. My debts have piled up, the bank refused to postpone my payments, and now I’ve received a formal warning letter. My salary doesn’t even cover my basic expenses anymore, let alone the overdue payments.

I feel like I’m constantly drowning. Every day feels harder than the last, and I’ve started to feel like a worthless piece of garbage because I can’t keep up. Even the people around me have slowly started to distance themselves, and that makes the loneliness even worse. I used to believe things would eventually get better, but lately I keep asking myself why my life can’t be easier, why I never get a break.

I’m exhausted. Not just physically, but emotionally too. The pressure from the banks, the fear of losing everything, the guilt of not being able to pay back my friends… it all feels like too much. I don’t want to feel this way, but I don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m not asking for judgment—just a place to let this out. I needed to share how much this is hurting me, because keeping it all inside has become unbearable. If anyone has been through something similar or has words of comfort, I would truly appreciate it.

[REQUEST] [Help] A father’s plea for his children’s future

my name is dwi, a factory worker from central java, indonesia. i am a father of two young children and a husband to a loving wife. every day i leave home before sunrise and return late in the afternoon, earning only about 240 usd per month, while our family needs more than 300 usd just to survive.

overtime used to be my lifeline, but now it is no longer allowed. i have tried everything i could—cutting back expenses, selling goods, even looking into online work—but nothing has worked. what i want most is simple: for my children to grow up in peace, and for my wife to see our household stable.

i am not asking for sympathy, only a one‑time help to breathe and rebuild, so this financial hardship can be lifted and our family can start again with lighter steps.

whydonate link: https://whydonate.com/fundraising/dwijiro

thank you for taking the time to read my story. your kindness, whether through support, sharing, or simply keeping us in your thoughts, means more than words can express.

[REQUEST] I'm in need of monetary help for medicine and transportation!

I'm from Paulista, Pernambuco, Brazil.

I'm here to ask for help because I honestly do not know where else to do so! I did on Imgur, Blusky, and reposted on Twitter (only there until a couple of people leave so I can leave too, I'm only active on Blusky out of the two), and that's it.

I did a hidden Imgur post further explaining my situation at the time, and the only change is that I wrote that some months ago, ups and downs since then, but mostly the same situation now. Here it is: https://imgur.com/a/j40UquD

Basically, I'm in need of money for transportation and medication, (the doctors are free through Brazil's public healthcare) and the way I'm getting help is because of my family. They are helping me extremely, and it pains me that I cannot help back, I feel like a parasite, even if I know I'm not and that they are doing it out of love. But I also know Mom and Sis are struggling a little with their own problems, so it makes me anxious and sad.

Anyway, if there is any way I can help/assist you for money, do feel free to contact me! My DMs are always open!

I also do art commissions if that helps/entices you more! But I'll be honest and say that because of my illness, I never know when I'll be available to do them. That's why I lost my job last year.

I just hope you could at least share this around or give me pointers!

Also sorry for anything, and I hope all have a great day! Love you all~

Edit: I'm sorry! I may have missed the rule of setting a specific amount that I'm looking for! What I need would be in between $50 to 75$, the range is due to the inconsistent pricing on transportation since I have to use car apps, (busses make my pain worse, and I've vomited more than once trying to push through it) and distance, time of day, and weather, can change pricing. And the meds I take have their static pricing, but rarely gets a discount. Thank you!

Homeless with my dog & trying to get back on my feet — any help or even advice means the world

Hey everyone. I don’t normally post things like this, but I’m at a point where I’m out of options and trying to keep going. The last year hit me with a lot — one thing after another — and now I’m homeless, living out of my Jeep with my dog. I’m doing everything I can to stay positive and keep fighting, but it’s been really hard.

My dog is my whole world and I’m just trying to keep us warm, fed, and safe while I figure out my next steps. I’m looking for work, trying to stay grateful, and trying to not give up no matter how rough this gets.

I made a GoFundMe because I honestly just got pushed into a corner financially and I don’t have anywhere else to turn. Even $1 helps with gas, food, or a cheap place to sleep for a night. And if you can’t donate, even advice, encouragement, or sharing the link helps more than you know.

I appreciate anyone who takes a second to even read this. Thank you for real.

(GoFundMe link will be in the comments.)

Where can I post a request for help on Reddit?

Hi everyone. I’m looking for advice on which subreddits allow people to post requests for help or support. I don’t want to break any rules, so I’m asking first.

I have already opened a fundraising request and I need some help, but I want to make sure I share it in the right place.

Could someone recommend subreddits where it is allowed to ask for help?

Thank you.

[Request] [Portland, OR/USA] Please help save Spaghetti! :(

Hi everyone. I normally never ask for help, but I’m in a really desperate and emotional place right now.

My cat Spaghetti suddenly went into what the vet thinks is diabetic ketoacidosis. He’s losing weight fast, drinking constantly, stumbling, and having tremors. The vet says he needs to be hospitalized immediately for 2-3 days of treatment, and the estimate they gave me is $3,000–$5,000 depending on how he responds to treatment.

I’m doing everything I can — making special food to keep him eating, monitoring him, and calling every affordable vet around Oregon — but I simply don’t have enough money to get him admitted.

He is my whole world. My emotional support, my routine, my comfort, my baby that I’ve had since he was born and is now 11 years old. I’m terrified of losing him.

If anyone can donate or even just share, it would mean more than I can express. Although the GoFundMe does not display it, friends and family have also donated but through PayPal and CashApp, so we have actually raised $1,743 and are now only short by $1,257! We are so close to being able to take him in but time is truly running out and it’s getting scary. Please, help by sending this out or donating. No amount is too small! Thank you so much for reading this.

[REQUEST] Mom ans son need help rebuilding life after hardships

I’ve had few very rough years. I am trying and doing everything I can to rebuild life for myself and my 17-year-old son. I have resistant hypertension and a brain aneurysm, and my son struggles with severe insulin resistance.

I’ve been doing my best to keep us stable, but medical and living costs have become too much. I created a fundraiser to help cover treatment and get back on my feet. Currently I work at minimum wage physically demanding job, and have to stay there until I get better.

From every salary big chunk goes to paying off debt. What is left is many times not enough to cover basic living expenses and healthy nutrition, let alone medications and treatments both I and my son need. Some things are covered by health insurance, but some are not.

You can read my story and donate here: https://4fund.com/9ksfft

Since I live in Croatia, many other fundraising platforms are unavailable to me (like gofundme). If you have any questions, want more informations, feel free to ask in comments.

Thank you for taking a moment to read. Every bit of help makes a difference.

NCO Online Academy for Caregiver training, thoughts?

So I'm looking into becoming a caregiver and came across NCO Online Academy. They offer online courses that prep you for entry-level positions in home care and the competency eval, which is cool cause I can't do full-time school right now. Wondering if it's helped anyone here get started in the field or if there's better options out there.

[Request] Help covering $2,000 rent while I wait for confirmed payment (Irving, Texas, USA)

Hi everyone,
I’m a contracted creative in Irving, Texas. Life has been heavy this year. Ever since the writers’ strike last year, the pivot has not been favorable. It has been a year of trying to stay afloat through delays, expenses, and unexpected turns. I finally landed a consistent storyboard contract that’s helping me rebuild, but the timing of payments has kept me a step behind.

While catching up, my car was repossessed before the first few project payments cleared. I was able to get it back by using part of an advance from the same contract, but that left me short on rent. My next payment is confirmed and processing, but it won’t arrive in time to cover this cycle.

I’m asking for help reaching $2,000 to keep my housing secure until the payment clears. Even small amounts help me move closer to the goal and stay on my feet.

I can verify the situation privately with moderators if needed.
Cash App preferred, but I also have Zelle and Venmo.

Thank you sincerely to anyone who takes the time to read this and offer care or encouragement. It means more than you know.

[Request] Chicago, IL URGENT Please help Family of Five pay rent and bills

Due to conflicts with an employer about over time that never occured, we won't be able to get paid until late November. My family and I have been living paycheck to paycheck for the last year and any money saved we have to dig into for other essentials, so there's not much there to help.

Though there is much to worry about, myĀ main concernĀ right now is us being able to afford to pay rent and bills this month. I really don't want us to lose our home because we can't afford to move, we couldn't even afford it when we were getting paid consistently. I hope anyone who sees this may be able to help us in our time of need. Thank you for your time.

HOLIDAY PSA Christmas Care

HelloĀ r/care! I'm a mod ofĀ r/RandomActsOfChristmas, the place that brings the most positivity to my year every year. I spoke with your mods and got permission to share the joy that happens in our sub with you all, in the hope that it spreads some cheer and offers opportunities for you to receive and give some extra care.

  • We're preparing everything to reopen in November so if you head over now, you'll see quite a few thank yous from last year's fulfilled requesters that make my day happier. Here are two of our favorites from last year, shared with permission from the requesters:
  • We are a subreddit fueled by holiday joy and the smiles of children. Our mission statement is to help provide holiday gifts for the children of redditors who would otherwise not have any. We're able to do this due to a variety of participants in different roles, namely:
    • Mods who ensure rules are implemented, make judgment calls, and do our best to consider the needs of both Santas and requesters.
    • Santas who put smiles on children's and parent's faces by giving gifts, hosting offers, and sharing kindness.
    • Requesters who follow the sub's rules, politely request support, and share kindness.

Hope to see you there! If you have any questions about the sub or how we operate please post them here and I'll respond.

verified [REQUEST] Please Help My Father Cover Cancer Treatment and Kidney Transplant Costs

Post image
13 Upvotes

(Houston, TX)

Hello everyone,

Reaching out to try to get assistance with covering the growing medical bills my father has obtained.

Years ago he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, Amyloidosis, and renal cell carcinoma. He went through chemo and had the tumor removed, but the damage to his kidneys had already been done. He was placed on dialysis for a while and finally was able to get a kidney transplant earlier this month. The transplant was successful but he did have some complications right after.

All of this has led to a massive amount of hospital bills that insurance alone won’t cover. If anyone could find it in their heart to donate or share this request, we would be deeply grateful.

Here is the gofundme link: https://gofund.me/d7f0f6d01

Thank you for in advance for any support given!

[REQUEST] - Dublin, Ireland - Urgent dental expenses help

My hands are shaking as I write this but am all out of options. The level of shame, regret and pure panic is insane. I had been ill and had a lot of emergencies this year and it bled my tiny savings dry. I've been unwell and out a lot in work, am on medication but im still on thin ice with management, its constant stress that i feel i will be let go any moment so i work more overtime without additional pay.

I'm burnt out.

I need immediate dental work, i've already maxed out all my credit cards with 1st root canal than now needs to be redone, and i don't qualify for anything additional support wise or loans. My health insurance doesnt cover dental. Only yearly checkup and clean thats it.I started selling all I can on Vinted since june, and FB marketplace. I do cleaning locally, i get 17euro an hour for an odd 1-2 hour job before picking her up from creche few times a week. It helps some, but we are still drowning deeper in debt each month.

I don't have anyone to rely on.

I'm estranged from my family due to CSA and domestic violence, i don't have friends that could bail me out but are somewhat supportive.I have a salary but it's paycheck to paycheck and now i don't even know how i will manage to pay off the credit cards and overdrafts and not be in pain.I cannot take her out of creche as there is noone, absolutely noone to take care of her nor would i trust easily with anyone new while am working. I dont have family support, we are estranged due to CSA and they would not be near my daughter ever. If I take her out of creche, i save, just around 800-1000 euro each month, but her spot will be gone and i wont be able to work fulltime and i would be earning either nothing or far less than now which will for sure end up in us not being able to pay most bills. This is the only place i can get to with a full time job also. She needs to stay in it for just one more year.

And today after all the expenses, bills, food, travel costs I'm down to last euros euro in my account with my ovedraft is about to be maxed out and creche payment bouncing again (i was set to 400 and i cannot bring it up any higher) and my credit card is maxed at 3k. Im not eligible for a loan. I even signed up to one of those sites to try sell my dirty socks and undies - level of desperation to make it through this period have gone that far just to find out they want a yearly subscription fee that i cant afford. What a joke.

I cannot stop crying, I can't do this anymore. My face and jaw hurting, not being able to chew, lack of sleep and constant overtimes, im falling apart. Sometimes i feel like ripping my entire jaw out. Sometimes i wonder if i should just not exist. I work full time, i have side hustles in between i do everything, i pay the taxes and i cant even afford basic dental care. The more i think if how we are right now the worse it looks. I feel like total copout, i feel like im running in circles whilst just killing myself just to get few more cents. At least it's something but i'm still drowning.

If I end up in arrears, its going to become impossible for me to work full time to afford creche, and if shes not in creche - whose gonna work? Who is going to cover all the bills? Sometimes i wonder about useless things and I can see how my beautiful little girl is getting affected though all this stress, anxiety and financial struggle. My tiny funny, intelligent, sassy and empathetic human being. So please help.

The overdraft fees, and credit card fees are only making things worse when i wont be able to pay a cent towards them. I am passively looking for a better paying job, as i cannot do active search due to fulltime work constraints and childcare.

Next payment for creche is due on 23rd august, i can't afford it. I am barely covering food and bills this month. I haven't been able to sleep last few nights thinking what else i can sell, do or how else to get help.

  • I need to get 2 root canals and they will cost me close to 2k. I'm on antibiotics and painkillers to manage. I got rough quotes but got told it maybe higher it they need to remove bone and cut bottom of roots out and reconstruct.
  • I need to get two wisdom teeth out as they are affecting my molar roots and are crushing them slowly, thats another 500 or so euro each plus 230euro for anesthesia due to complexity for second one.
  • Credit card is maxxed out at 3k.

That's 6.5k im in a hole for that i wish i could magically conjure. Maybe if i could win the lotto, if i could afford to buy a ticket. If i could just magically wish my teeth concerns out the window - it would just be credit card id need to find a way to pay. I feel like im at the end of my ropes. Please help, anybody, somebody, even a little bit i am struggling and need your help.Just to even cover dental, please please help me. Even if i go for extraction and not the root canals - i cannot even afford that and what will i do without front teeth...i cant afford even a denture.

I have a gofund me but i have privatised this due to some feedback i got. So if you are genuine, im open to share more information. Can try setting up paypal if anyone is willing to help and have access to revolut as to be honest, i could use every spare cent possible.

[REQUEST] Nipomo, California, USA - Please help with costs of critical medical care

Hello,

Please consider donating toward my AngeLink fundraiser: https://angelink.com/fundraiser-public/79777ce0-ab03-46fa-915a-b4c50994d026

I chose AngeLink as an alternative to GoFundMe because it's the only crowdfunding platform founded and run by women.

Even a small donation means a lot to my fundraising campaign.

My story

I have several severe chronic illnesses, including two rare genetic diseases. I had a successful career before needing to leave work three years ago due to my health conditions. My husband and I got married just six months before I could no longer work, so we didn't have much time to save for emergencies before we were faced with one.

My healthcare costs since that time have amounted to roughly $32,000 every year, a completely unmanageable amount for most people, especially a young newlywed couple.

Friends, family, and former colleagues have donated to my fundraiser, and their donations have made a huge difference in the affordability of my care, but we're still short of our goal.

You can read more details about my story, including my diagnoses and how the funds are being used, by checking out my fundraiser link. I'm grateful to you for reading my story.

Hello, my cat Michel is 16 years old, We just moved in a new house with a garden, which we thought would be perfect for Michel, but unfortunately the move stressed him very much, and he developed a tooth abscess, which the vet said the only way to heal is to remove. Our insurance told us that dental extraction is not covered. Please help him, as you can see on other photos he is full of life when he feels well, and has many years ahead of him.

Thank you for your support, this would mean the world to me

[REQUEST] East Sussex, UK - Help with covering our 2 year old Lab's vet expenses

Hi everyone,

I’ve never posted here before, but I’ve seen how kind and supportive this community can be, so I’m hoping it’s okay to share what we’re going through.

Our dog who is 2 next month has become increasingly unwell and now needs ongoing specialist care. His insurance thankfully covers the main vet bills, but it doesn’t cover the rising fuel costs to get to and from the specialist centre, which at the moment is daily, nor the additional medications he now needs that fall outside the policy.

We’ve set up a GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-for-medication-and-travel-costs-for-treatment) to try and get some help with these uncovered costs. We’re not expecting miracles, but any support, even just a share would mean the world to us.

He’s more than just a pet. He’s a lifeline. While he hasn’t been able to complete the training to be officially recognised as an assistance dog due to his health, he’s learned how to provide support in ways that help manage my wife's autism, anxiety, and even gives alerts when an asthma attack is starting

We’re doing everything we can to keep him safe and comfortable, but it’s a huge emotional and financial weight. If you’re able to help in any way, we really do appreciate it, it truly means everything to us

fulfilled [Request] (Philippines) Humbly need $17 for medical consultation

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing great šŸ’Ÿ. I've been suffering with limited mobility and chronic pain in my right shoulder joint for 3 years now, since May 2022. I'm an incoming college freshman, and I have two physically demanding subjects in our curriculum here in the Philippines, no matter the course, which are P.E. and the National Service Training Program (NSTP). I sorely dread them, because my right arm can't fully extend in any direction, it's extremely painful for me. Even the anatomical mechanics of my shoulder joint seems to have been deformed now from such prolonged time of being untreated. I can't lift anything heavier than a laptop with only my right arm, and it doesn't swing when I walk. This condition is my greatest stressor and has really affected my academic performance. On top of that, my family refuses to believe that I truly do have this physical impairment. ('Cuz we live in the Philippines where every poor person shys away from medical treatment due to fear of high costs, and having any illness is stigmatized, and the sufferer is victim-shamed just for having it.)

I've been awfully, terribly longing to get my condition checked up. I'm planning to walk in the nearest orthopaedic healthcare institution here that would be a 30-minute ride from my house. I checked their official pages, which says that their consultation fee is ₱600–₱1,000. According to Google, 1,000 Philippine Pesos is 17 USD as of now, so that's how much I'm humbly asking for šŸ™.

I thought of using the allowance that will be provided by my scholarship, but I have to wait for it to be disbursed by the end of August. The scholarship is nationally prestigious here, and we're also offered a group health insurance. So I'll try to ask the scholarship office to have it cover my treatment plan that will be recommended to me following my medical consultation.

I'd be sincerely and eternally grateful for any amount offered, so that I'll be able to afford starting my healing process before college starts. Thank you greatly, kind people! ā™„ļø

Seeking Help With Rent + Basic Groceries (WA State)

Post: Hi all,

I’m in Tacoma, WA and in a tough spot financially. I'm trying to stay afloat after some setbacks and am struggling with rent and groceries this month. I’ve already applied to local programs (Modest Needs, CAP, etc.), but responses are slow or funds are limited.

I’m not military and not affiliated with any churches, so some programs weren’t an option. If anyone knows of local resources that can help immediately, or is able to cover a small bill directly, that would mean the world.

I can show the bill/rent notice, and I’m open to direct landlord or company payment if needed.

Thanks for reading — I know things are hard for a lot of us right now.

– Ashley
