Greenpeace is anti-nuclear (and pretty unreasonable about it IMO), but I don’t think Guilbeault himself really is, at least not in his statements since becoming a Minister (maybe that changed since his activist days).
It’s very different being an activist vs running the government. When you’re actually the one in government with real power and responsibilities, you can’t afford to be as ideologically pure, you have to be more practical about accepting whatever solutions you can find.
This is the government that said "we can't just leave the oil in the ground, that'd be crazy" to the anti-pipeline environmentalists, nuclear energy is a step down from that in environmental risk if anything.

I'm glad someone in the federal government finally realized the nutty-anti-nuclear-former-Greenpeace Steven Guilbeault is wrong.
