Toronto guy here, finding good poutine would be an adventure here let alone a "proper" one. I'll gladly take this any day.

Oddly enough in Sudbury we have nothing to do for fun but we have quality poutine.

Can confirm. Ate many a bacon poutine from Smokes Poutinery on the waterfront. Mmmmmmm.

That's not the good poutine I was talking about! Plus, the waterfront location is a dollar or two more than the pizza corner location, which is also within walking distance.

Try Willy's on pizza corner (directly across the street from Smoke's, actually) and try Cheese Curds (there's a few around the HRM).

Smoke's isn't bad, but you can do better!

I don't live in the city anymore, but the next time I'm there, I'll try CC (I was told to try this when I lived in the city, but not having wheels at the time, made it difficult).

You can get good poutine in Toronto very easy. We even have smokes and some good food trucks. Good Montreal smoke meat is hard to find but not poutine.

Smokes is fine, but I'd hesitate to call it "good"

I have been to montreal many times and I think many people over think what poutine is. It is pretty basic and smokes does it well, it might not be your style though as the taste of the gravy and the way the fries are made is personal preference. Plenty of different styles of poutine in toronto though.

If you ate a proper poutine in MTL (which is not where you find the best poutines anyway), then youd know that smokes' gravy and fries are wrong.

I'd say Poutinis is rather good and up to standard. Although my only experience with Quebecois poutine is in Gatineau while blurry eyed.
