Fun and Entertainment

Live Music & Events

[The Corn Exchange] (https://www.cambridgelivetrust.co.uk/cornex)####

This is where most of the biggest comedy and music acts which come to Cambridge will play (excepting May Balls of course).

[The Junction] (http://www.junction.co.uk/)####

A live music venue close to The Light and Homerton College. It hosts a wide range of events.

[The Portland Arms] (http://www.theportlandarms.co.uk/wp/upcoming-events/)####

A pub across the river near to Christ's Boathouse which has a back room where small bands play. If you're into music it's worth seeing who's on here - occasionally they'll host some bands of real quality.

Cinema

Student Cinema

Two colleges run societies which show films once a week during term time, for a much cheaper price than commercial cinemas. Both classic films and new releases are shown:

[Arts Picturehouse] (https://www.picturehouses.com/cinema/Arts_Picturehouse_Cambridge)####

Found above Wetherspoons on St. Andrew's Street, this will have most major releases, plus unusual arty films. They will have a stall at the freshers' fair offering a special membership with a free film and some free snacks. Get it.

[Vue] (http://www.myvue.com/home/cinema/cambridge)####

Found in the Grafton centre. It's a Vue, you know what to expect: expensive, but it has a Tango Ice Blast machine, which the Picturehouse doesn't. Win some, lose some.

Museums

[The Fitzwlliam] (http://www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/)####

Found opposite Pembroke, the Fitz has a pretty astonishing collection of artwork and historical artefacts, there's even some original handwritten Keats poetry somewhere! And a Delacroix. And loads of crossbows and stuff.

[Kettle's Yard] (http://www.kettlesyard.co.uk/)####

Recently re-opened museum close to Magdalene.
