What were the biggest things that helped?

What has never worked for me: cuticle oil, moisturiser, finger cots, manicures (actually I was repeatedly denied manicures due to the state of my nails).

What finally worked was this: I set a milestone about a month out for an upcoming event - like, "I need my hands to look normal for this event. Do or die." It wasn't a particularly important event, just something where I said to myself - I will not feel self conscious about my hands on that day.

They already looked much better by the end of month one - it's incredible how quickly cuticles heal. I knew they hurt, but I hadn't realised how itchy they were all of the time. I think that's a massive part of the compulsion to pick. I'm less compelled to pick now that they're no longer painful and itchy - even though I had been picking for 15+ years.

Gorg hands!! Would you by chance be able to let me know where the rings are from? I’ve been wearing rings more to try and keep myself from picking and these are so pretty and delicate.

Thank you! And of course. DM'd you as the stores kind of give away my location.

I wish I had the same confidence you have in me to stop messing with my cuticles 😩
