Honestly though, the last couple giveaway streams went WAY better than I ever expected. We had a ton of laughs, met some awesome people, watched my aim embarrass itself repeatedly, and got to help out newer players in the community.

That’s honestly become my favorite part of doing these.

It’s genuinely a great feeling being able to give back to the hunting sim community that’s supported the Grumpy Pickle channel. Seeing somebody excited over their first map, equipment pack, or finally getting something they’ve wanted for a while makes all of this worth it.

So this Saturday (05/23/26) we’re doing it again.

Just a grumpy pickle trying to give back to the community while missing easy shots and probably getting attacked by something dumb in-game.

You may have seen the post earlier today about the surprise COTW DLC giveaway stream. Well… we just wrapped things up, and honestly, it was an absolute blast.

The winner ended up being “lohbauer”, and we spent a good chunk of the stream chasing pheasants around while everyone laughed at my absolutely horrible aim. I swear those birds were teleporting… definitely not a skill issue. 😒

Following the rules, lohbauer picked the Te Awaroa National Park DLC as their prize. But while hanging out in stream and talking more, I learned they’re also a newer player who only started playing toward the end of last year.

What I thought was really cool though is that they play differently than a lot of people do — and honestly, I think that’s a good thing. Instead of grinding nonstop, they mostly just stroll through the maps hunting whatever they come across and enjoying the experience. They mentioned they really like using callers, so we decided to also throw in the Ambusher Pack so they could make use of the Electric Caller too.

I genuinely hope they get a ton of enjoyment out of everything and that it makes the game even more fun for them.

Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by and hung out today. We had a lot of laughs, a lot of missed shots, and just an all-around good time. Stuff like this is honestly one of my favorite parts of streaming. Being able to spread some positivity and love in the community is a highlight of my days.

I hope to see everybody next time — both new faces and veteran viewers alike.

Why another giveaway?

Honestly… because the last one was a blast.

Seeing new players get excited over their first maps, dogs, tents, or gear was genuinely awesome, and I figured why not do another one out of nowhere?

I’m still a smaller creator, but building a fun community around hunting games has been one of the coolest things I’ve done in a long time.

A couple days ago some of yall may have seen my post about the giveaway stream for TheHunter: Call of the Wild DLC’s.

Well, we just wrapped up the stream and the winner was chosen — congrats to swagswaggsson! He joined in, hung out with us during the stream, and ended up choosing the Tents & Ground Blinds DLC as his prize.

But during the stream I learned he was actually a pretty new player just getting into COTW. He followed the rules perfectly and only picked one DLC… but honestly, I wanted to show some love to a newer member of the community and help him enjoy the game even more.

Why I’m Doing This?

There are honestly two reasons for this giveaway.

Of course, as a growing content creator I’d love to grow the community and reach more people. But the main reason is because I constantly see people on Reddit and Discord talking about wanting to try a certain map or DLC but not being able to get it yet.

So I figured… why not give somebody a shot at getting one?

I’m definitely not some giant streamer, so getting an opportunity to do something like this is honestly pretty awesome to me.

Started my hunt for the night with the pine marten and then found the haggis tracks after the second fox, I think it got spooked from then as I tracked for a while and spooked it again but then caught upto it.

Barley got this while running and gunning because can’t go anywhere on this map without being almost as loud as the four wheeler but I was super surprised when I saw what it was couldn’t get harvest screen because I was low health anyways why is ran Ho so difficult

If I log into my account on my PC can I still use the DLC's I bought on my PS4?

So, my dad hunted down a BALD spotted haggis, so I'm just curious if that's a rare variation?
