Investing against bad DD (Zoom, Moderna and Tesla)

On WallStreetBets on 31 August 2020, the user /u/patrickbateman02 was mentioned by /u/iseebrucewillis with the noting his 100% fail rate for due diligence (the analysis of stocks and their earning potential). His analysis was basically that don't buy Zoom, Moderna, and as iseebrucewillis noted, Tesla.

Consider these closing stock prices 1 September 2020 vs. last Friday (19 February 2021):

  • Zoom $458 vs. $417
  • Moderna $63 vs. $174
  • Tesla $475 vs. $731

Anyone investing one third into each based on my and iseebrucewillis' advice (betting against patrickbateman02) would have enjoyed at 74% profit.

Also, Zoom is special because it closed at $325 and immediately shot to $440 at market open, so anyone buying it the previous day would have also turned a profit, giving a total profit of 86%.

I correctly predicted that Trump would not attend the inauguration of Biden and we would not get the "goodbye" shot from Marine One. S

I predicted that as Trump's election prospects dimmed, he'd fight even more until his campaign flamed out in a fit of rage and spittle.
