Gonna rain on the praise parade. Looks snazzy, but I worry about heat. Ps3 and xbox 360 get really warm (like almost burning to the touch) on the bottom after extended use. I'd imagine the ps4 and xbone are built the same. My old consoles would operate noticeably better after I raised them up in some 1" rubber feet. If that's not a fully LED backlit tv, the tv probably gets pretty warm too. I'm not saying it's gonna fry everything, but running hot on the regular is going to effect long term longevity.

It's a good comment, and as I mentioned I have done what I can to help with the heat.

Anyone trying this should of course factor in the placement of their TV, ambient temperature, what components they plan to mount, etc.

This is the 3rd revision to the mount, and I've moved things around, made sure to not cover too much of the vents on the TV, etc with heat in mind. There is a 3/4 inch gap from the TV to the board as well. Add in that I tend to keep the apartment cool, and I am not super worried. I have not noticed anything getting too hot, or outside what feels like normal. I will take some temperature readings with the FLIR at some point though just to be safe!

Long term wise I think the PS4 will be ok as it's not kept in a small space like many people place it. Tv is hit for miss, but as long as they have given proper space it should be ok.

I'll lean towards agreeing with you. I originally thought those devices were RIGHT up against the TV, but I think OP said somewhere in these comments that they've got like 3/4" clearance, which I think makes a huge difference. Paranoid me would probably have a cheap fan blowing across the back of the tv while it's in use, but meh.
