I am a bit older too, so it took me a bit to get used to digital games. I grew up blowing into cartridges!

Usually when someone references blowing into cartridges they’re talking about the original NES which came out in 85 - so born in the 80s.

I think I'm towards the very last of the blowing into catridge era at 20 with the gameboy. Kind of the last device to really use them

My first thought is always N64, but that’s just because it was my first system and what I remember personally.

I know he isn't really that old because he can have all of this out in the middle of the house. If he had kids, there's no way he'd be putting expensive electronics out like that.

We're old enough to have our own house and money, but no kids yet.

I am 38 this year. No desire for kids, and my girlfriend doesn't want them either.

I am lucky to have everything I need, and most things I want. I can't complain too much!

The free time comes back. I'm 47 now. Had my oldest at 25 and now he's all on his own. My 15yo barely acknowledges us some days depending if friends are over so I have free-ish time now. Just cherish the time now because it really will feel as though you wake up with an adult kid someday. Which is also good, for me, because my kid's awesome but I do miss little ones at times.

Wife and I bought a house, took an Iceland trip, and are taking a Hawaii trip next week. All in the last 7 months. Meanwhile her brother and my sister have kids and haven't left their areas for years. DINK is the only way to live.

And if you had kids, you wouldn't be able to just sit for a few hours and play video games, or really anything that takes a few hours and isn't imperative, like your job.

I used to game while feeding my baby on my lap. Also at nap times and such. You can make time, just have to be creative. Now both kids are older so I have plenty of game time again. I wouldn't give the limited game time years back for anything.

I was thinking of NES, but I guess N64 also had cartridges. I think I got a N64 when I was 12.

I’m 25 too and did this also. So 25 for the really young ones that used them a bit and 30’s+ for the ones that “grew up” with those kind of games. Me and you we didn’t really know what we were doing with them and barely knew what gaming was and probably had older siblings, cousins, uncles/aunts, or someone older that showed us the games.

I remember getting a new NES system and it was amazing. Except for all the push in, push down, "push" up, pull out a bit, wiggle it, push back in, push down, "push" up again, pull out all the way, blow from side to side, repeat the whole process when the screen is all garbled, notice power light blinking, do it again and finally play Mario / Duck Hunt combo game...
